On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek the following applications for
license were granted: Trinidad Viscarra, Boardingr'ouse 1814 i.Iorro Street; S.F,.Caine,
Cigars Sideline and Soft Drinks at 308 Higuera-treet.
All matters pending were again referred to the next meeting.
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the meeting adjourned to I:Ionday, June

The application of Foley & Burk Shows, by L.G.ChL :pman, for license for Carnival at
guera and South Streets for the week of July 23d to 27th was received and on motion of

The Eerchandising Bond of ;. Casulli, secured by a certified check in the amount of
200.00 was ordered cancelled and the Certified check ordered returned, the rrincipal having

The application of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for permit to
construct an underground subway on the west side of Llorro Street..'from l,:arsh Street to Pacific
Street, on the south side of Pacific Street from l.:orro Street -to Creek at Toro Street, with
les at junction of I_orro Street and Pacific Streets, Osos Street and Pacific Streets, and
Santa Rosa Street and Pacific Streets. also, two laterals, one extending approximately
150 feet south on Korro Street from manhole at l::orro Street and Pacific Street, and one
extending approximately 150 feet south on Santa Rosa Street at the muihole at Pacific Street
and Santa Rosa Street was before the Council. Discussion. On motion of'John Chapek
seconded by l_.E.Cox the application was granted.
On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by L.J.Defosset the report of the City Treasurer

In re petition of valley and Coast Transit Company, .L.I::c Connell, for permit to
improve property in Imperial _'_ddition by laying sidevialk, curbing, gutter etc. ?natter discus .d.
It was moved by H. .Cox and seconded by L.J.Defosset that the application be granted with the
rovision that the petitioner be permitted to recess curb for two driveways at either —end of
he property. One driveway to be 58 feet vide v.,ith seven foot slope and three foot flat
idewalk, the other to be 120 feet wide with seven foot slope and three foot flat sidetiialk;
e hundred feet of five foot standard part: sidetivialk and curbing to be laid between the two
iveways. The motion_ carried with the provision that the work be done under the supervisi
f the City Engineer.
