The Lterchandising Bond of H.P.Fanning, secured by Certified Check in the amount of 200.00 was received and approved on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox. The report of the City Treasurer for the month of July was received and ordered filed on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by L.J.Defosset. The City attorney was directed to draft a Resolution in re acceptance of ..a right of way Deed from the San Luis Obispo High School District, conveying to the City of San Luis Obi a certain strip of land for the purpose of constructing a new channel for San Luis Obispo Creek near intersection of ?,iarsh Street and Ida Street. In a coruaunication the Granite Construction Company requested an extension of time on the construction work of a certain Storm Drain on l.Ionterey Street( Resolution of Intention No. 265 ( New Series ), and after discussion - Resolution =;o. 295 ( ldeti•: Series ) , A Resolution extending the time for the completi off' the contract for a period of eighty - two ( 82 ) days, dating from and after September 10th. 1929, was introduced and adopted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes by the following vote: Ayes : Chas Forbes, L.J.Defosset, H.E.Cox, John Chapek, L.F.Sinsheimaro hoes : None, Absent: done. City Engineer L.W.Moore, furnished the Council with a written report, to the effect that the contract for the extension of a certain culvert at Broad and Leff Streets, (E.A.Branch, Contractor ), had been completed to the satisfaction of the Engineering Depart- ment; that the required period of time had elapsed since the completion of the work, and recommended the final acceptance of said work by the City. It was moved by H.E.Cox and seconded by Chas Forbes that the hereinabove mentioned work be accepted , and that a warrant in the amount of $ 225.92 be drawn in favor of E.A.Branch, Contractor, for balance due under Contract, the said amount being the 25% with held'for a period of 35 days. The motion carried. The Thirty -third Annual Report and Budget of the San Luis Obispo Free Public Library for the Fiscal Year ending June 30th. 1929, was presented and read, and on motion of Chas Forbe: seconded by L.J.Defosset the same was ordered placed on file. Ordinance Ido. 137 ( Idew Series ) An Ordinance levying a Tag for the current Fiscal Year ( 1929- 1930 ) upon all TaxableProperty within the City of San Luis Obispo and fixing the rate of such tax as follows: General Fund 165 Interest Fund 150 Library Fund 112 Improvement Fund .13 1.60 was introduced, adopted and passed to print on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by L.J.Defossset by the following vote: Ayes.: Chas Forbes, L.J.Defosset, H.E.Cox, John Chapek, L.F.:insheimer. This being the date set by the Council for receiving bids for the construction of an extension to a certain Culvett on Santa osa Street, the following is the only Bid received, which was publicly opened and read: E.A.Branch - San Luis Obispo, California. For.reinforced,concrete domplete:in place: 22 cubic yards at ....6000.0.6 S 23.75 522.50 A Certified Check in the amount of $ 100.00 accompanied the bid. It was moved by H.E.Cox and seconded by L.J.Defosset that the contract be awarded to E.A.Branch in accordance with the price named in his Bid. The motion carried. Chas J. Berkemeyer,and Carlos Serrano appeared and presented a petition for the improvement of a certain Street in a portion of the Venable Tract; cost of work to be borne by property owners. On Bmotioli of John Chapek seconded by-Chas Forbes the matter was referrer to the Commissioner of Public Works and the City P.ngineer for investigation and report to the Council.
