City Nall, I,Ionday, October 7th 1929 - 7 :30 1.1d.
City Council met in regular session - Vice president of the Council Chas Forbes
presiding.
'Present : Chas Forbes, H.E.Cox, John Chapek.
Absent : L.J.Defosset, 1Iayor L.F +Sinsheimer.
The minutes of September 16th. 17th. 23d and 30th. were read and approved as read
Ion motion of John Chapek seconded by E.E.Cox.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.i;.Cox
seconded by John Chapek:
Earl S. I-Yise - Residence & Garage Block. 49 Reeds i ddn Cost 29250.00
Albert Nelson - Residence & Garage Block 81 Cost 1,500.00
H.H.Ec Bride - riddition of a room Block 61 Cost 150.00
Arthur Ie Grew- Repairs Block 108 I,iurray & Church ,,ddn Cost 100000
B.J.Epperl, - Garage Lot 14 Isabel Tract Cost 60.00
The application::of :;lbert lielson for permit to remove a house from 270 Santa toss
Street to the easterly 50 ft of lot 5 Block 76 was granted on motion of E.E.Cox seconded by
John Chapek.
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following applications for license
re referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council:
John H. Vail - Hotel at 697 Eigue:ra.5treet
A.J. IIdulhblland - Restaurant 1020 ITorro Street
The petition of lurs. Ada Sada for transfer of license for Restaurant at 889 i-lonterey
Street to F.J.Barcellos was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for
report to the Council on Notion of II.E.Cox seconded by John Cbapek.
On motion of H.:�.0ox seconded by Jolui Chapek the petition of the Gold Dragon ,
(Roy D. Chandler & !.".-:oung Louis ) fdr permit to remove place of business, from 1122 luorro Street
to 983 I::onterey Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for
report to the Council.
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following applications for permit to
connect with the City Sewer were granted:
Dr. L.J.i;eilsen - Pismo Street .between Osos Street and Santa Eosa Street.
i•:rs. F. Lewis - N. Broad Street between Lincoln ..ve. and i:ountain 'view Street.
Joseph C. Reis - Two stub sever coiuiections on 7. Broad Street between Peach & Sycamore St,
G_.a.Gushing - Sewer service for Laundry at 352- Higuera Street.
The reports of the City Collector and the Police Judge for the month of September
were received and ordered filed on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by H.E.Cox licenses # 592 and #': ^593 issued to
Geo. C. I:1ac Gregor for Soft Drinks and Cigars Sideline, respectively, at 1027 l,Iorro Street,
were ordered cancelled to clear record.
Claims against the City for the month of September were ordered paid subject to the
Approval of the heads of the respective departments on motion of John Chapek seconded by E.E.Co.
On favorable report by the '201mmissioner of Public Health and Safety, the applicati

to stand and maintain a wagon, for the sale of peanuts, popcorn etc., at the corner_ of Osos St
and l."arsh Street( Presbyterian Church property ), also for license for Soft Drinks at the same
