City Council met in regular session - ',ice President of the Council Chas Forbes
presiding.
_Present : Chas Forbes, L.J.Defosset, H.E.Cox, John Chapek.
Absent ..ayor L.F.Sinsheimer.

The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.i.Cox
seconded by John Chapeik,:with the provision that Contractors named therein, have taken license
for contracting:
Clarence B. Saunders - Residence & Garage Lot 21 Blk 17 1Inholm .'- do Cost u 49500.00
Paul R. & Gertrude Graham - residence & Garage lot 10 Blk 7 isnholm "ddn " 39000.00

The 499lication of '..H.Stephens, Trustee for Park Lodge # 40 Knights of Pythias, for
permit to hang a double faced wooden sign on Vioodman Hall at larsh and Chorro Street, was
referred, on motion of H.y.Cox seconded by John Chapek, to the Coim.missioner of Public Health
and Safety for report to the Council.
The following applications for permit to connect with the City :ewer were granted on
motion of H. .Coy seconded by L.J.Defos =et:
17.H.Broadhurst - 7,7orro Street between Sycamore Street and Peach Street.
Garrett H. Bowen - Chorro Street between Center Street and i.7ountain iiew Street.
Arley Gill - Pismo Street between Carmel Street and Beach Street.
r- olication of idland Counties Public Service Corporation '. 168 for permit to replace
poles on ':urray Street at Santa Rosa Street , was referred to the Commissioner of Public V.orks
with rower to act, on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek.
in a co-n1u_zication E".S.Haiilton called the attention of the Council to the condition of
drainaPe on lower Figuera Street. '.latter referred to the Co i :iissioner of Public ':works
for investigation.
The report of the Pound faster for the ,month of December 1929,was received and ordered
filed on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek.
L petition was received from property owners on Fig Street between Santa Rosa Street
and i�orro Street requesting that the said Street be graded, and that the proper procedure as
prescribed by law be initiated. Gn :motion of John Chapek seconded by L.J.Defosset the
petition was referred to the City Engineer for checking.
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following applications for license
were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report
to the Council:

On motion of :H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek it was ordered that a letter of condolence
be sent to ?Mrs John, and also, that a letter be sent to ';Ia;Tor L.F.Sinshei:mer expressing hope

or a speedy recovery from his recent illness.
On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.F.Cox the following applications for license
