Present : Chas Forbes , H.E.Cox, John Chapek; L.F.Sinsheimer.- Absent : ?•:J.Defosset. The minutes of April 21st and 28th and ?:g=ay 1st. 1930 - were read and approved as read' on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox. On iaotion of r.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the following applications for permit to build were granted: ::Iichael J. Clifford - _'.esidence & Garage pt lot 4 Block 55 Cost, 29500.00 r.P.Howell - '.arehouse - pt lots 4 & 5 Block 7 Cost 19500.00 remodel interior of store - i�ew front " 11000.00 - andrews .Est Remodel and repair interior office Uniou Gil Co Cost 29000.00 The application of =rs. L.G.Adkins for permit to. place a Llarquee. over entrance to St James Hotel was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to.the Council on motion of H.F,.Cox seconded by John Chapek. The application of C.E.Bruce for permit to build a combination Garage and Cottage on lot 4 Block 12 Buena 'vista Addition was referred to the ComMissioner of Supplies for interview with petitioner. The following applications were granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek: ina Herrera : To change position of -residence on lot 6 Block 41.to face Johnson Street. John Diener - To raze building on lot 6 Block 96. "7ission vineyard.Tract. Joseph Thomas - To raze two buildings on lot 5 Block 24 H.H.Carpenter Fst- To raze buildings in Block 17 The application of ':rs. L.G.-Adkins for license for Hotel at 683 -.ronterey Street was eferred, on ,notion of John Chapek seconded by.Chas Forbes, to the Caimissioner of Public Heal Safety for report to the Council. :!pplication of C.E'.Jones for permit to lay.50 ft of 5ft park sidewalk and curbing on south side of Church Street between Broad Street and 1,Tipomo Street was granted on motion of .B.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes. The I:Ierchandising Bond of G.F.Bodgers, Surety T.V.Glheeler, i:as approved and the Surety accepted, on motion of'Chas.Forbes seconded by John Chapek. The petition of !::rs. L.G.gdkins for permit to place a temporary canvas sign on front of the St. James Hotel was referred to the Commissioner of rublic Health and Safety for report to the Council on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek. Application of Cline's Blectric Shop for permit to install a I1eon Sign 'at Anderson Hotel Coffee Shoppe, was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H..-!?.Cox. On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by H.�.Cox the following ar- :plications for permit to connect with the City Sewer were granted : V9.A.Clirik - ?:iurray Avenue between Toro. jc;treet and Stenner Street - .J.Clifford - Pismo Street between Beach Street and Carmel Street. Cn motion of Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek the request of the �;merican Legion IAuxiliary ;, 66 , for per:iit to sell Poppies was granted. In a co.imunication Hllard ,W. Carson, for Fiesta de las 21ores Co::n ;:ittee, extended an invitation to the Council to participate in Fiesta parade, Friday, Dray 23rd at 10 o'clock On ,motion of Chas -Forbes seconded by H.E.Cox the communication was ordered received and placed on file. City Clerk directed to acknowledge receipt of same with thanks - advising committee that the Council will participate if nothing interferes. 1 1 I� 1 I� n 1 215 The report of the City Collector and the Police Judge for the month of April 1930 were received and ordered filed on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek. On motion of Chas Forbes seconded by E.E.Cox a warrant was ordered drawn in favor of the Pacific Company, Ltd., in the amount of � 185.99, same being amount due from the City of San Luis Obispo for assessment against City's property lying within assessment district for Lonterey Street Storm Drain , -Resolution of Intention i:o. 265 ( Eew Series ). Claims against the City for the month of April were ordered paid subject to the approval of the heads of the respective departaents on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek. '�r Custer appeared before the Council relative to condition of Street at 1067 Leff Street. I`atter discussed and on motion of Chas Fortes seconded by John Chapek the matter was referred to the Com-aissioner of Public 'r,�orks for investigation and report to Council replication of the - .�idland Counties Public Service Corporation 11o. 175 for permit to dm certain .orL on north Broad street between Venable Street and _:fountain View Street was again laid over. On motion of B.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek the follo�--ring applications of Cline's Electric Shop for permit to install Electric Signs were granted %,.ith the provision that said signs do not extend over siduvalk, and are kept within property line: I:iiles Sanders Service Station — l onterey and Toro Street i.S.I:Iaddocks Service Station — higuera and High Street I:lartin & Kustel Sery Station — Idarsh and Osos Street. Applications of Foster & Kleiser Company for permit to place advertising sign boards as set out in applications on file were laid over to the r2 xt meeting. On notion of Chas Forbes seconded by John Chapek it was ordered that license I ?o. !' 1737 issued to Abrams & Simms, Architects a 5.00 be referred to the Police Department for collection. Plans presented by 3.B.Burch, Engineer, for the High School Bridge, were ordered placed on file with the City Clerk for inspection by the Council and City Engineer. In re proposed improvement of Garden Street : City Clerk to assemble all papers in connection therewith for next meeting of the Council.
