City Engineer L.d.i.ioore filed a report on the construction of the Santa I;osa
Street Retaining 7iall, to the effect that said work had been done to the satisfaction of the
Engine ring Department, and recommended official acceptance by the City Bouncil. It was
ved by H.E.Cox and seconded by L.J.Defosset that the report be received and filed; that a
rrant in the amount of the Contract price ( k 676.76 ) be dray.n in favor of Irving L. Ryder,
Contractor, for the wotk. The motion carried.
On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox the meeting adjourned.

City Council met in regular session - i:_ayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : Chas Formes, H.E.Cox, John Chapek, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent : L.J.Defosset.
The minutes of June 16th., 23d and 30th. were read and approved as read on motion
of Chas Forbes seconded by H.E.CoX.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.E.Cox
seconded by John Chapek:

S.L.O.School District - Addn to Hawthorne School Bldg Blk 9 .;eills Add n Cost 149400.00
The application of ::':ary Berry for permit to raise house in 31ock 10 , 4 ft to
acco:11modate new pluinabing, also, for permit to connect house in rear with set: --r drain, was
referred to the Coz(;lissioner of zni)lic l;orks and the City Engineer for investigation and report
to the Council.
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by Chas Forbes the application of 0,L.Birra for permi
to lay 72 ft of 5 ft park sidelvalk on the north side of Islay Street between Beach Street and
Carmel Street Was granted.
On motion of t;has Forbes seconded by John Chapek the application of 41rs. ?,s'-Rudolph
for permit to lay 88 ft of 5.ft park side,;.alk and curbing on the north side of Islay Street
between Beach Street and Carmel Street was referred to the Commissioner of public ;lorks and
the City Engineer.
Application of S.F.Gaxiola for permit to lay 50 ft of 5 ft par:_ sidcti.Ialk on the
east side of Store Street between High Street and Sandercock Street was granted on motion of
H.E.Cox seconded by John Chapek.
