The matter of the application of the Union Oil Company for permit to Idake approach
to Service Station in Block 41 - corner Monterey and Essex Streets - was again-::taken up.
i4 latter discussed and on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by ?•.J.Defosset the application was granted,
with the provision that the sidewalk approach be ramped for a distance of not mote than 66 feet
Yonterey Street and a distance of not more than 52z feet on Essex Street. Work to be done
under the supervision of the City Engineer.
Ordinance No. 145 ( New Series ) An Ordinance prescribing additional duties of
Policemen and Firemen was introduced and passed to print on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by
u.E.Cox, by the following vote :

Application of the i:Iidland Counties. Public Service 6orporation Ido. 184 for permit to
do certain work on Lizzie Street and on Fixlini Street, as set out in application on file,
was referred, on motion of John Chapek seconded by L.J.Defosset to the Commissioner of Public
Works with power to act.

In re mutter of Petition of H.C.L:insman for Sewer Service on Fixlini Street between
Lizzie Street and Upham Street : Batter discussed. It was moved by H.-.-.Cox and sec
by Chas Forbes that the City Engineer be directed to proceed with the work of extending L'iain
Sewer line in accordance with the said application. The motion carried.

Of Automobiles were read and ordered placed on file.
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety L.J.Defosset was directed to look further
into the matter of the offer of Hrs. F.L Smith, of a lot on Pacific Street between Garden Stre
Chorro Street for Parking of automobiles.
