Action on the application of Mrs. Mary Rudolph for permit to lay 88 ft of didewalk
and curbing on Islay Street between Beach Street and Carmel Street was again continued.
Communication of 1.11.W.Mathews in re high power lines of the IeIidland �;ounties Public
Service Corporation was continued to the next meeting.
It was moved by H.E.Cox and seconded by John Chapek that the matter of the petition
of property owners in Arlington Addition and California Park for permit to connect a proposed
Sewer System for said Subdivisions with the main public Sewer System of the City of
San Luis Obispo was laid over: matter to be taken up when all members of the Council are
present.
On motion' of H.E.Cox seconded by John Chape k the meeting adjourned to Ltonday,
December 29th 1930, at 7 :30 P.M.

City Hail, Monday, December 29th, 1930 -7 :30 P.M.
City Council met in adjourned session- Mlayor L. F. Sinsheimer presiding.
Present: Chas Forbes, L. J. Defosset, H. E. Cox, John Chapek, L. F. Sinsheimer.
Absent: None.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H. E. Cox
seconded by John Chapek:
H. B. Curtis - - Residence and Garage lot 9 Block 3 Anholm Addition Cost $ 3,800.00
J. F. Faulstich — Addition two rooms part lot 6 block 94 Y. & C. Addn. Cost 200.00
The applications of Jilliam Gebhardt and Lee Stefni for licenses for lunch counter,
cigars sideline and soft drinks at Greyhound Stage Depot, mlonterey & Essex Streets, were
referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and safety for investigation and report to the
Council, on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by H. E. Cox.
The application of the Valley 'lectric Company for permit to hang a Neon Electric
Sign at Geo. Id. I:IcCabe's garage, 1034 , Interey Street, was referred to the Commissioner of
Public Health and safety for report to the Council on motion of h. E. Cox seconded by
John Chapek.
The application of Mary C. Leredith for permit to recess curb of sidewalk for driv-
ing to Garage at 1425 Garden Street was granted on motion of H. r,. Cox seconded by John Chapek
Petition was received from the Union Oil Company for permit to change location of a
pole on Monterey Street between Essex Street and Southern Pacific R. R. right of way, on
motion of L. J. Defosse•t seconded by John Chapek said petition was referred to the Commissione
of Public Works with power to act.

In a communication the Chamber of Commerce requested that the names of streets be
marked on curbs of sidewalk at street intersections. I;iatter discussed, and on :motion of L. J.
Defosset seconded by Chas. Forbes matter was referred to the Commissioner of Public 4vorks for
survey and report to the Council.
On motion of John Chapel seconded by L. J. Defosset the petition of R. S. Shatford et.
al.. praying the Council to establish sn official grade on Lizzie Street between Johnson Ave.
and Fixlini Street, was referred to the City Engineer for report.
The report of the City Treasurer for the ':Month of Nove:aber 1930 was received and or-
dared filed on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by II. E. Cox.
This being the time and place fixed for hearing of protests on the ysessment for the
impropement of a portion of Ids Street and a right of way.owned by the City of San Luis Obispo
(Ida St. Bridge) Resolution of Intention No. 319 (New Series) the matter was now taken up by
the Council. Written protests were filed by R. M. Bradbury, et. al.. E. N. Bernard, et.al.,
Neil Cook; et.al., and Llartha B. Clayton. Verbal protests were made by Dr. R. M. Bradbury,
A. F. Fitzgerald, D. H. Foree, P:Irs. R. M. Bradbury, H. Tschiesche, Emma C. Righter, B. R.
Preuss and C. H. Jesse &. Protests heard: After discussion it was moved by H. E. Cox and
seconded by L. J. Defosset that the Hearing be continued to Monday January 5th, 1931 at
7:30 o'clock P.P.Z. The motion carried.
Application for the regular quarterly licenses were granted on favorable report and
-:notion of L. J. Defosset seconded by Chas. Forbes.
Application of the Valley Electric Coi7pany for permit to hang an Electric sign at the
Mission idarket, Higuera and Broad Streets, granted on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by
H. E. Cox, with the provision that said sign be hung in accordance with provisions of Ordinance
and under the supervision of the City Engineer.
The petition of the Union Oil Company for permit to cut the curb and storm sewer at
their service station on Monterey and Essex Street as shown on blue print on file was received
and referred to the Commissioner of Public Works and the City Engineer for investigation and
report to the Council, on motion of Chas Forbes seconded by L. J. Defosset.
The matter of the Hearing on the protest of Ralph C. Kennedy in re proposed new street
grades on Islay Street between Beach Street and Carmel Street Resolution of Intention No. 334
(New Series), was continued to Monday, January 5th, 1931 at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on motion of
John Chapek seconded by H. E. Cox.
Application of Mrs. I.1ary Rudolph for permit to lay sidewalk and curbing on Islay Street
between Beach Street and Carmel Street was again laid over.
Communication of 1. W. Mathews in re high power lines of Midland Counties Public
Service Corporation at 350 Higuera Street again continued.
Consideration of the petition of property owners of California park and Arlington
Subdivisions relative to connecting a proposed sewer syste::: for those subdivisions to the
main public sewer of the City of San Luis Obispo was laid over to the next meeting of the
Council.
On motion of John Chapek seconded by n. E. Cox the meeting adjourned.
