Forbes, L.J.Defosset, H.F.Cox, John Chapek, L.F. Sinsheimer. Absent: None The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H.E. Cox seconded by John Chapek: Harmony Valley Creamery Association -- Addn., 10 x 181, Block 60, Cost $150.00 Fred Muff -- Addn., of a room, Block 29, Cost 40.00 The applications of M. Shimizu for licenses for Lodging House and Boarding House at 767 Chorro Street were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council on :motion of H. E. Cox seconded by John Chapek. The application of Fran': Keller for permit to lay 150, of curbing and gutter on the south side of Church Street between Broad Street and Nipomo Street wus granted on motion of H. B. Cox seconded by John Chapek. The application of the Valley Electric Company for permit to erect a horizantal double faced electric sign for the Pacific Greyhound Stage.lines, Monterey and 7ssex Streets was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council on motion of Chas. Forbes seconded by H. E. Cox. The applications of the County of San Luis Obispo for sewer connection on Santa Barbara Avenue between High Street and Broad Street and of Jennie Silveria for sewer connection on Morro Street between Peach Street and Sycamore Street was granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by John Chapek. A Petition was received from the Santa Liaria Gas Company requesting permit to break a hole in the pavement 3 x 4' on Idurray Avenue bet,, %Teen North Broad Street and Benton way. After discussion the application was granted with the provision that said Santa :.Iaria Gas Co~ipany drive pipe if possible. 17ork to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer. Ordinance No. 147 (New Series), An Ordinance enforcing preference for the employment of resident laborers performing labor upon public works in the City of San Luis Obispo, and defining conditions under which contracts for such work shall be awarded was finally passed on motion of John Chapek seconded by H. Cox by the follok�fing vote: Ayes: Chas. Forbes, L.'J. Defosset, H. 1;. Cox, John Chapbk, L. F. Sinsheimer. Noes: None Absent: None Ordinance No. 148 (New Series), An Ordinance changing the Official Curb grade of Islay Street between Beach Street and Carmel Street was finally passed on motion of H. B. Cox seconded by L. J. Defosset by the following vote: Ayes: Chas. Forbes, L. J. Defosset, H. r. Cox, John Chapek. Noes: L. F. Sinsheimer Absent: None On motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by Chas. Forbes, Frank Hoyt was granted license for Lunch Counter, Cigars Sideline, and Soft Drinks at 421 Higuera Street. The application of Clarence Pubell for permit to build a garage on Lot 11, Block 4, Anhol-m Addition was again laid over. The petition of H. S. Shatford for the establishment of grade on Lizzie Street
