E. Cox, John Chapek, L. F. Sinsheimer. Absent :: Chas. Forbes The minutes of February 2nd and 9th were read and approved as read on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by H. E. Cox. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H. E. Cog seconded by John Chapek: Clarence G. Rubell - Residence and Garage, lot 10 Block 11 Anholm Addn. Cost $5000.00 11. D. ITT Rae - Residence and Garage part of lot H Block 138 Phillips Addn. Cost $3500.00 The application of ?. F. Fukunaga for permit to change the position of a building known as the Francis Garage on lot 1, Block 149, Harford Addition and make an Addition 241x 36' was received and granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by John Chapek. The application of Foster and Lleiser Company for permit to erect a two panel advertising sign -board in block 17, north side of Higuera Street between I:orro Street and Court Street, was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council. The application of A. W. Cogdell for permit to lay 45' of 5 ft. park sidewalk on the west side of Toro Street between Pismo Street and Buchon Street, La Vina Block, was granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by L.. J. Defosset, with the provision that the work be super- vised by the City Engineer. The T:ierchandising Bond of Chas. Hoewitz, for Hubert's Smart Shop at 745 Higuera Street, Surety, Id. lsi. Duff, was received and on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by H. E. Cox the Surety was accepted and the bond approved. The petition of D. H. Foree for permit to remove one walnut tree at 1426 Marsh Street on account of interference with sewer, was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works with power to act on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by ,John Chapek. The following applications for permit to hang signs were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council: G. W. Davidson Wooden Sign 663 Higuera Street Valley Electric Co. Neon Electric Sign Greyhound Coffee Tavern, Monterey & Essex Streets Valley Electric Co. Neon Sign -E.L. O'Reilly's Serv. Sta. - 645,Higuera Street On motion of H. E. Cox seconded by L. J. Defosset the application of G. F. Rhodes for permit to make sewer connection on Lentucky Street between Second Street and Third Street was granted. =.pplication of the ?.iidland Counties Public Service Corporation No. 189 for permit to set two 55' ooles on curb line in front of the Southern Pacific I:?illing Company's property on Santa Barbara Avenue between High Street and Upham Street, was denied on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by L. F. Sinsheimer. Appiication of I;iidland Counties Public Service Corporation No. 190 for permit to replace present.351 pole with a 45' pole on Upham Street at Ruth Street was.referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for report to the Council on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by IH. E. Cox. The City Clerk was authorized to draw a warrant in the amount of $250.00 in favor of the State Compensation Insurance Fund for deposit premium on renewal of insurance as of February 7th, 19310 232 Application of 't_nud Clausen for permit to build a garage on lot 3 Block 5 was granted on favorable report and motion of H. E. Cox seconded by L. J. Defosset. The application of Mrs. John Barry for license for Fortune - Teller at 1190 Honterey Street was denied on motion of T.. J. Defosset seconded by H. F. Cox. On motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by John Chapek, the following applications for licenses were ordered granted: H. A. Thomas, Cigar Sideline, 1208 Peach Street; Tony Chaves, Soft Drinks, Cigar Sideline and Pool Tables at 660 Higuera Street. Petition of Cline's , ectric Shop for permit to install seven electric signs at the 12ioneer 1;1arket, corner Earsh Street and 1iorro Street was again laid over. Application of the Eidland Counties Public Service Corporation No. 188 for permit to rebuild lines in the vicinity of Sycamore Street between Santa Rosa Street and Iaorro Street was granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by John Chapek. Application of H. C. Knight for permit to lay 50' of 3 ft. park sidewalk and curbing Ion +vloodbridge Street between Broad Street and Lawton Street, Norton Addition, was again continu The matter of the establishment of grades on Lizzie Street was again laid over. This being the time and place fixed for Hearing on issuance of bonds to cover unpaid assessments for the improvement of Garden Street between i :_arsh Street and Buchon Street, Resolution of Intention No. 322 ( ?dew Series), the matter was now taken up. matter discussed and, Resolution Igo. 347 (New Series), A Resolution relating to the issuance of improve- ment bonds of the City of San Luis Obispo, pursuant to esolution of Intention No. 322 Series), determining the amount of unpaid assessments, prescribing the denominations of such bonds and providing for their issuance and delivery, was introduced and adopted on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by u. F. Cox by the following vote: Ayes : L. J. Defosset, H. F. Cox, John Chapek, L. F. Sinsheimer. foes : None. (Absent: Chas. Forbes. On motion of H. E. Cox seconded by L..J. Defosset, Commissioner of Supplies, John Chapek, was empowered and directed to proceed with acquiring rights of way for a proposed Sewer line from the junction of Trill Street and Uipomo Street along Villa Street and Brizzolara Street to the junction of Higuera Street and 1.IarsY! Street. The City Attorney submitted a draft of an ordinance covering the licensing of transcient peddlers.
