City Council met in regular session - Mayor L. F. Sinsheimer presiding. Present: Joseph B. Berkei-neyer, John Chapek, H. R. Cox, ?. J. Defosset, L. F. Sinsheimer. Absent : None. Former Commissioner of Finance and Revenue, Chas. Forbes, reported on the claim of James Piper for construction of 118 feet of curbing on Islay Street which had been referred to his departrient for adjustment. I „r. Forbes suggested a compromise on the claim of X59.00 in lieu of X82.00, i. e. 118 feet of curbing at 6).50 per foot in lieu of the price of x.70 per foot, as charged. It was moved by L•. J. Defosset and seconded by John Chapek that the claim of said James Piper be compromised for the amount of $59.00, with the provision that io-!r. Piper pay all charges against him, to the City of San Luis Obispo. The minutes of I;iay 4th and 11th were read and approved as read on motion of'H. D. Cox seconded by John Chapek. The official bonds of Mayor L. F. Sinsheimer, Councilmen L. J. Defosset and Joseph B. Berkemeyer and City Clerk, Callie 1. John were presented. The City Attorney examined same and reported them in proper form. The respective Bonds were then approved by the Council and the IrIayor. The Council now proceeded to organize as a new Council. L. J. Defosset nominated John Chapek for rice President of the Council. The nomination was seconded by H. E. Cox, and upon Roll Call, John Chapek was unanimously elected, and so declared, vice President of the Council. �� For Commissioner of Finance and 'Revenue, Joseph B. Berkemeyer nominated John Chapek. The nomination was seconded by.L. J. Defosset, and upon Roll Call, John Chapek was unanimously elected, and so declared, Commissioner of Finance and Revenue. For Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, H. E. Cox nominated L. J. Defosset. The nomination was seconded by John Chapek, and upon Roll Call, L. J. Defosset was unanimously elected and so declared Commissioner of Public Health and Safety. For Commissioner of Public Works. L. J. Defosset nominated E. E. Cox. The nomination 1 was seconded by John Chapek, and upon Roll Call, E. E. Cox was unanimously elected, and so declared, Commissioner of Public Works. For Commissioner of Supplies, L. J. Defosset nominated Joseph B. Berkemeyer. The nomination was seconded by H. E. Cox, and upon Roll Call, Joseph B. Berkemeyer was unanimously 1 elected, and so declared, Commissioner of Supplies. Application of the I,Zidland Counties Public Service Corporation No. 193 for permit to re- string wires on Garden Street between Marsh Street and Pismo Street was granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by Joseph B. Berkemeyer. Application of the I;Iidland Counties Public Service Corporation Ito. 194 for certain work upon Center Street between Chorro Street and Broad Street, Anholm Addition, was referred t the Commissioner of Public ,lorks for report to the Council, on motion of L. J. Defosset seconde John Chapek. H. J. Dubin appeared before the Council relative to subdividing certain property in ock 149, Harford Addition. The matter was discussed at length, and, on motion of John Chape conded by L. J. Defosset the matter was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for rep to the Council. E. Cox seconded by L. J. Defosset. Application of firs. 1I. H. I•dills for permit to lay 70 feet of curbing on High Street between Cypress Street and Beebee Street was again laid over. Petition of Theodore I.I. Liaino for permit to install gasoline storage tanks at service station at the corner of Osos Street and Higuere Street was again taker_ up. After discussion, the matter was continued, pending communication by the City Attorney, with the Board of Fire tinder%,✓riters. Theodore Ii. Yaino appeared before the Council relative to his petition for permit to ramp sidewalk area at Service Station corner of Higuera Street and Osos Street. After discus- sion, it was ordered, on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by Joseph B. Berkemeyer, that the petitic be granted with the following provisions: (1) That sidewalk be ramped not more than one half width for a distance of 50 feet on Osos Street, starting 5 feet from property line. (2) That sidewalk be ramped not more than one half width on Higuera Street, starting 24 feet from, property line. On motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by H. E.
