Berkemeyer, John Chapek, H. E. Cox, L. J. Defosset, L. F. Sinsheimer. Absent : Done. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by John Chapek; State of California - Division "V" Office, part of Block 150 Harford Addn. Cost 36000.00 K. J. Hanak - 'Residence and Garage, lot 25 and 26, Block 5 lJonterey Heights Cost 5200100 Application of S. 3. Caine for license for Soft Drinks at 308 Higuera Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council. The application of G. E. Stroud for permit to connect with City Sewer on I-_�urray Avenue) between Henderson Avenue and Graves Street was granted, on motion of H. E. Cog seconded by L. J. Defosset. Application of the Union Oil Company for permit to renew poles on I; ?onterey Street and Essex Street between Ida Street and Grove Street as set out in application on file, was gran on Notion of H. E. Cox seconded by L. J. Defosset. The petition of Theodore I.1. Ielaino for permit to recess curb of sidewalk for a distance of 12 feet, ramping sidewalk one -third width, on Chorro Street between 1.1arsh Street and Pacific Street for driveway to C. L. Sauer Building, was granted, on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by John Chapek. The communication from the Drum and Bugle Corpe of .San Luis Obispo Post _#66 American Legion, was received and ordered placed on file, on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by H. E. Cox. City Clerk directed to acknowledge receipt of same. On motion of L. J. Dafosset seconded by John Chapek the following licenses were ordere cancelled: 1;2293 La Vida Iaineral plater Company Mdee !later N 4.00v' 2148 Wm. (McCarter Mdse 2.50V $ 6.50 The petition of T. A. Greenleaf, et. al., relative to sidewalk on either side of Pacific Street being made full v.,idth, was received, and on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by John Chapek the petition was denied. Petition of 'ar. & I:Irs. J. H. Lirk, et. al., relative to full width sidewalk in front of their property on Pacific Street, and special permit relative to space for planting trees, was referred, on motion of John Chapek seconded by Joseph B. Berkemeyer, to the Commissioner of Public ':Yorks for investigation and report to the Council. The petition of Theodore I1I. I :Zaino for permit to install gasoline storage tanks at 12-ervice Station, corner Osos Street and Higuera Street was again continued. Application of Mrs. W. H. Mills for permit to lay curbing on high Street between (Cypress Street and Beebee Street was again continued pendin„ the establishment of grades. Application of Midland Counties Public Service Corporation Ido. 194 for certain wore: on Center Street between Chorro Street and Broad Street, Anholm Addition, was continued for one ek. The application of the Nehi Bottling Company for license for Bottling at 1037 Plipomo St., s granted, on motion of L. Cox seconded by Joseph B. Berkemeyer the petition was grunted with the provision that the sewer connection be :lade on Higuera Street and that the work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer. On motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by John Chapek license #2255, H. Smith, IhIdse. Autos and :accessories, $4.00, and, license #2413 H. B. Curtis, Peal Estate, $5.00, were 1held over for collection. Ordinance No. 153 (View Series); An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 176 (Nero Series) Irelative to licensing businesses not now covered by the license Ordinance, was introduced and (passed to print on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by John Chapek by the following vote: Ayes Joseph B. Berkemeyer, John Chapek, H. B. Cox, L. J. Defosset, L. F. Sinsheimer. Noes . ?done. lAbsent : None. It was moved by L. J. Defosset seconded by John Chapel: that the Police Court be established in quarters in the Carpenter Building; that :Y15.00 per month be alloyed as rental X or said office. The :notion carried. In re appointment of Chief of Police: It was moved by L. J. Defosset seconded by John Chapel_ that :tarry A. Berkemeyer that Builders and those interested in the construction of buildings, be invited to attend a meeting of the Council, I:fonday evening, June lst, 1931, and express their views and ideas relative to the adoption of a Building Code.
