Cos, L. F. Sinsheimer. Absent : L. J. Def osset. The minutes of May 18th and 25th were read and approved as read on motion of °&E. Cox seconded by J. B. Berkemeyer. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by J. B. Berkemeyer:; the matter of formulating a J. Hollinger - Residence and Garage, lot 1. Block 7, Anholm Addn. Cost 4000.00 3eorge Biddle - Addition to residence, part of lot ll,.Bloek 134, length, and, as the first step, the Phillips Addition Cost 200.00 T. L. Franke - Portable House, part of . Blook 62 Cost 200000 The applications of A. F. Spence for license for Billiards and.Pool, Cigar .Sideline and Soft Drinks at 1006 Railroad Avenue were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and ety for report to the Council. The Merchandising Bond of John B. Ashton in the amount of $$200.009 Surety, E. C. Rodg was approved and the Surety accepted on. motion of John Chapek seconded by H. E. Cox. On motion of H.-E. Cox seconded by J. B. Berkemeyer the application of P. J..O'Reilly for permit to connect with City Sewer on hurray Avenue between Henderson Avenue and Monterey St was granted. Applications were received from T. A. Greenleaf, Mrs. J. F. Lopez and Antonio Landa for permit to construct full width sidewalk on Pacific Street in lieu of park sidewalk, as called for in plans and specifications for the improvement of Pacific Street under Resolution of Intention No. 346 (New Series). After discussion, it was moved by H. E. COX seconded by John Chapek that the applications be denied without prejudice to the applicants. The motion carried. The report of the City Clerk for the month ending April 30th, 1931 and that of the Police Judge for the month ending L11ay 310t, 1931 were received and ordered filed on motion of John Chapek seconded by H. E. Cox. Claims against the City for the month of May were ordered paid, on motion of John Chapek seconded by H. E. Cos, subject to the approval of the heads of the respective departments. In response to the invitation of the Council, building Contractors of the City of San Luis Obispo were present to discuss with the Council the matter of formulating a Building Code for the City. The matter was discussed at length, and, as the first step, the following ordinance was presented by the City Attorney: ordinance No. 154 (New Series), An ordinance creating and establishing Fire Zones in the City of San Luis Obispo, and repealing Ordinance.No. 45, Ordinance No. 98 (New Series), and all other ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith, was introduced and passed to print on motion of H. E. Cog seconded by John Chapek by the following vote: Ayes J. B. Berkemeyer, John Chapek, H. E. Cox, L. F. Sinsheimer. Noes : None. Absent: L. J. Defosset. Application of S. E. Caine for license for Soft Drinks at 308 Higuera Street was granted on motion of J. B. Berkemeyer seconded by H. E. Cog. s, . 1 1 u 1 1
