Berkemeyer, John Chapek, H. E..Cox, L. F. Sinsheiaer. Absent : L. J. Defosset. The minutes of June 15th, 22nd, and 29th were read and approved as read on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by J. B. Berkemeyer. Application of Ross Morganti for permit to build a residence on the North Easterly part of lot 5, Block 9 (fronting Palm Street), at a cost of $4500.00, was granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by J. B. Berkemeyer. The application.of.S. Stote for permit to install stub sewer on Islay Street between Osos Street and Horro Street was granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by John Chapek. In a communication, Dr. W. D. Butler, Post Commander of the San Luis Obispo Post #66 Hof the American Legion. set forth the desire of the local Post to sponsor Foley & Burke Shows in the City of San Luis Obispo for one week co:amencing August 3rd, 1931, and requested that the license be remitted. Matter discussed. City Clerk.directed to notify the local Post Ithat it is desired by the Council that Foley & Burke Shows make formal application for license permit. The application of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for permit.to do certa work upon Murray Avenue between Benton Way and Mt, Plessanton.Drive, in the lit. Pleasanton Tract, was received and referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and report to the Council. On motion of John Chapek seconded by H. E. Cox the reports of the City Collector and the Police Judge for the month ending June 30th, 1931, were Deceived and ordered filed. The petition of Theodore Ii. Haim for permit to hang a Neon Electric Sign at the Firestone Service Station on Higuera Street at Osos Street, in ac:;ordance with blue print attached, was referred on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by J. B. Berkemeyer to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council. The Claim of San Luis Obispo Recreation Company, Inc. in the amount of $54.00 for a return on a charge for license fee, alleged to be an erronious charge, was referred to the Commissioner of Finance and Revenue for investigation and report to the Council at the next sting. On motion of H. E. Cox seconded by J. B. Berkemeyer the following licenses reported by the City Collector as "uncollectable" were referred to the Police Department for investi- tion and report to the Council: #2608 Purity Stores, Truck 2614 General Foods Co., Truck 2616 Purity Stores, Truck 2619 Smith Produce Co., Truck 2633 C. H. Sims, Truck 2644 W. 17. Talkington, Truck 2651 Wylie Pricitt, Truck 2653 Rockwood & Company, Truck 2654 Ben Raphael, Truck 2655 U. S. Furniture Co., Truck 2657 Gillispie Furniture Co., Truck 2664 G. B.
