Be Cox seconded by J. Be Berkemeyer. Application of 3..E. Hansen for permit to connect with Sewer on Chorro Street between Center Street and I:It. View Street was granted on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by J.B. Berkemeye: Application of the Santa t,Iaria Gas Company for permit to break a hole in pavement 37 x 4' on Santa Rosa Street between Mill Street and Peach Street for the purpose of repairing gas leek , was granted on motion of H. E. .Cox seconded by J. Be Berkemeyer, with the provision that the work be done under the supervision of the City.Engineer. The application of Iaerrifield.Music and Electric Company for permit to hang a Neon eetric Sign at 786 aiguera Street, was referred to the Commissioner of.Public Health and afety for report to the Council on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by J. Be Berkemeyer. The application of Foley & Burke, by L. G. Chapman, for license for Carnival Show. for week of August 2nd, 1931, was received, and, on motion of H. E. Cox seconded by J. Be Berkemeyer, the same was referred to the Commissioner of.Public Health and Safety for stigation and report to the Council. The minutes of July 6th and 13th were read and approved as read on motion of John Chapek seconded by J. Be Berkemeyer. The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of L. J. Simmons for permit to hang a wood and metal sign at 740 Marsh Street were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council. Ordinance No. 154 (New Series), An Ordinance creating and establishing Fire Zones the City of San Luis Obispo and repealing Ordinance No. 45,.Ordinance No. 98 (New Series), and all other Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict therewith, was finally passed on moti of John Chapek seconded by J. Be Berkemeyer by the following vote: Ayes J. Be Berkemeyer, John Chapek, L. J. Defosset, L. F. Sinsheimer. foes None. Absent: a. E. Cox. Ordinance No. 157 (New Series), An Ordinance of the City of San Luis Obispo creat the office of Building Inspector; providing for the salary of the Building Inspector; re- gulating the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, removal, demoli- tion, conversion, occupancy, equipment, us8, height, area and maintenance of all buildings and /or structures in the.City of San Luis Obispo; providing for the issuance of Building Permits and collection of fees therefor; providing penalties for the violation thereof; repealing Ordinance No. 45 of the City of San Luis Obispo, and all other Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict therewith, was finally passed on motion of L. J. Defosset seconded by John Chapek by the following vote: Ayes . J. Be Berkemeyer, John Chapek, L. J. Defosset, L. F. Sinsheimer. Noes : None. Absent: H. E. Cox. The applications of Mrs. J. Henckendorff for licenses for Restaurant and Lodging House at 885 Higuera Street were granted on :notion of L. J. Defosset seconded by J. Be Berkemeyer. The application of ! Jerrifield Jusie and Electric Company for pe -rmit to hang a Neon Electric Sign at ?:Merrifield Music and-Electric-Company at 786 Higuera Street and of Theodore Me 1lMaino for permit to hang a Neon Electric Sign at the.Firestone Service Station on Higuera Street at Osos Street were granted with the provision that the said signs be hung in ecoordance with the existing Ordinance and under the supervision of the City Engineer, .The claim of San Luis Obispo Recreation Company, Inc., in the amount of 04.00 for refund of an alleged over - charge for license for six quarters dating January let, 1930.to Marsh lat. 19319 was taken up. The Commissioner of Finance and Revenue reported on said claim offering an;ad:jq a end for the amount of $45.00 covering a period of five quarters On motion of John Chapek seconded by J. Be Berkemeyer it was ordered that a refund in the amount of 5.00 be allowed in accordance with the report of the Commissioner of Finance and Revenue. City Clerk directed to draw warrant.
