Resolution No. 368 (New Series) A Resolution accepting a Deed from Caroline Ili.Condit, et al, for the widening of Lizzie Street in the City of San Luis Obispo was introduced and adopted, on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek* by the following vote : Ayes : John Chapek, H.E.C'oz, L.J.Defosset, L.F.Sinsheimer. Noes : None. Absent : J.B.Berkemeyer. Matter of the'petition of Joe Kenner for rebate on licenses paid for -April Quarter, 1931. referred to the Commissioner of Finance for report. City Council met in adjourned session - Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding. Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, John Chapek,.H.E.Cox, L.J.Defosset, L.F.Sinsheimer. Absent : None. The application of Mand and W.W.Champlain for permit to make addition to residence on Lot 17,-Block 1, Hathway Addition at a cost of $350,00 was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer. On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer - the following applications for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council Madam Jeanett P.T.Imboden - Palmistry. - Restaurant 412 Higuera Street. The application of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for permit to do certain work on Ida Street at Marsh Street, as set out in application on file, was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for report to the Council. The application of A.C.Ellsworth for permit to connect with the main Public Sewer on Ida Street between Mill Street and Palm Street was granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by IL.J.Defosset. I 3�? The Merchandising Bond of Bay C.Hogue, Surety S.E.Hogue, was approved and the Surety accepted, on favorable report and motion of John Chapek seconded by L.J.Defosset., On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek the following applications for licenses were granted : Mrs.L.G.Adkins - Hotel (St-James) George Lewis - Lodging House J. A. Tate Lunch Counter M.A.Samuels (Albert Baer Llerc.Co) - Auctioneer 883 Monterey Street. 1011 Morro Street. 2125 Broad Street. 698 Higuera Street. On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek the application of .Jack Wong (for Tie Chong Co.) for license for Cigar Store at 834 Palm Street was denied without prejudice to the applicant. The petition of Joe icenner for return on license fee, paid for April Quarter of 1931 was denied on motion of John Chapek seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer - the Council having no jurisdiction. On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by John Chapek the petition of The Valley Electric Company for permit to hang a Neon Sign at Stag Billiard Parlor, 956 Monterey Street, was granted with the provision that said sign be hung in accordance with Ordinance and under the supervision of the City Engineer. The application of The Valley Electric Company for permit to hang sign at Aut -O -Tel Service Station, Higuera and French Streets, was granted, with the provision that a. "New Sign" be hung, in lieu of the one petitioned for; said new sign to be hung in accordance with Ordinance and under the supervision of the City Engineer. The application of A.W.Shurrager, Jr. for permit to hang a sign at 1015 Morro St, was denied on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.I.Cox. The following unfinished matters were again continued : petition Salvation army Petition 1Ars.W.H.Mills Matter of unpaid licenses. Ordinance No.162 (New Series) - Shelter fo Unemployed at 868 Palm Street. - Permit to lay curbing on High Street. An Ordinance defining the term "Oleomargine" and requiring persons, firms and corporations selling or exchanging, offering for sale or exchange, or having in possession with intent to sell or exchange, to obtain a license authorizing them to do so and to pay a license fee; and providing a penalty for the violation of this Ordinance, was introduced and passed to print on motion of L.J.Defosset seonded by J.B.Berkemeyer, by the following vote : Ayes J.B.Berkemeyer, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, L.J.Defosset, L.F.Sinsheimer. Noes : None. Absent : None. City Attorney directed to furnish the. Council with a draft of an Ordinance relati to all night parking of automobiles and trucks, on City Streets.
