Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, L.J.Defosset. Absent : I;Iayor L.F.Sinsheimer. The minutes of January 18th and 25th were read and approved as read on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox. The fallowing applications fox periA t to build were granted on motion of H.E.Cog seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer : M.G. Salmina - Addition to Garage Block 60 363 Cost $ 100.00 Queenie Warden - Remodel Store front Block 13 Cost 100.00 The applications of Frank Chavis for licenses for Pool Tables and Cigars Sideline at 162 Higuera Street ( Pacific Hotel ) were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council, on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer. The petition of A.F.'_:oza for transfer of license for Merchandise ( Groceries ) at 699 Higuera Street to Helen Sousa was granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer. On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the follovd.ng applications for permit to hang Neon Electric Signs were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council : Cline's Electric 1hop - Ideon Sign Dr Dunklee 1130 Garden Street . Cline's Electric :hop - Neon Sign Baldwin Sery Station Higuera Street . Three applications of the :standard Oil Company for permit to install two additional storage tanks and one pump at their respective Service Stations in accordance with applicati on file. and the application of the Associated Oil Company for permit to break sidewalk for purpose of installing one additional 550 gallon gasoline storage tank at Service Station corner of I:tontergy and Santa :osa Streets, were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council, on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.3erkemeyer. Communication from State Compensation Insurance Fund relative to renewal of Insur was read and on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox the matter was referred to the Commissioner of Finance and ;ievenue with power to act. A letter from the Railroad Commission in re " Special Signal " at Larsh Street grad crossing was referred �o Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer. The reports of the City collector and the Police Judge for the month of January 1934' were received and ordered filed on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.3erkemeyer. Claims against the City : - for the month of January were ordered paid, subject to the approval of the heads of the respective departments, on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer. Resolution No. 369 ( New Series ) , A Resolution revoking the previous declaration e .of the City Council that a portion of �'horlo Street should constitute a Boulevard was introduced and adopted, on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by H.E.Cox, by the following vote : _dyes : J,GB.Berkemeyer, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, L.J.bafosset. Noes :Pone. Absent : I,.F.Sinsheimer.
