City Hall, i;ionday, :august 22nd. 1932 - 7 :30 P.i+i.
City Council met in adjourned session - Isayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : John Chapek, H.E.Cox, L.J.Defosset, L.F.Sinsheimer.
:absent : J.3.3erkemeyer.
The- following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of H:E:Cox
seconded by John Chapek :

The following applications for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of Public
Eealth and Safety for report to the Council :

The I,ierchandising Bond of 7- The National Dollar Stores, Ltd., with G.F.Rhodes as
Surety, was received. On motion of John Chapek seconded by L.J.Defosset it was ordered that
the said Bond and said Surety be accepted temporarily, until a more satisfactory Bond can
be secured.
The petition of rd.I:;.Ideely for permit to move a Barber role from 684 Higuera Street
to 1110 Chorro Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report
to the Council.
On motion of H.E.Cox seconded by John.Chapek the application of the union Hardware
and Plumbing Company for permit to cut pavement on Lorro Street between Higuera Street and
I1onterey Street for the purpose of installing new water service line for Paiva Building was
granted, with the proviso that gas line and water service pipes lay within the same ditch -
scheme to be worked out by the City engineer and work done under his supervision.
Petition of Floyd C. Cook , et.al., protesting against the payment of license for
Soft Drinks, when the same is sold in connection with a business for which a general
rchandising license is paid, eras received.

The petition of S.3.Caine for permit to move a Fruit ;Stand from 308 Higuera Street
to Lot 22 3lock 61 was again laid over.
Final action on ordinance Ro. 166 ( iiew aeries ) providing for the registration of
Contractors was deferred.
The matter of a proposed ordinance amending License Ordinance iJo. 76 ( liew Series )
s laid over.
The petition of J.:.Carroll for permit to maintain a stand on Presbyterian Church
iperty, again obntinued.
C.J.3assi appeared before the Council in re erection of a shed at rear of Store
ccupied by Farmers Hardware and Implement Company. Matter discussed. Building Inspector
petitioner to work out plan.
Commissioner John Chapek reported on the matter of Public Liability and Property
Damage insurance on City owned automobiles, and recouuended that :?alph C. Lennedy's policy be
accepted, provided that policy which ::ir. I:eiuledy offers to the City meets with satisfaction
of the council. Idatter further discussed. It was moved by John Chapek and seconded by
..J.Defosset that the policy of i.r. Y.ennedy be approved and accepted. The motionacarried.
