The minutes of August 15th., 22nd., and 29th. were read and approved as read on
motion of H.E.Cax seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.

The reports of the City Collector
and the Police Judge for
the month
of august 1932
were received and ordered placed on file.
Claims against the City for the month of August 1952 were :ordered paid, subject to
approval of the heads of the respective departments, on motion of John Chapek seconded by
H R.Cox.
Ordinance Do. 167 ( New Series ) An Ordinance levying a tax for the current fiscal
year ( 1932- 1933 ) upon all taxable property within the City of San Luis Obispo, and fixing
the rate of such tax at 1.55 on each one hundred dollars in value of said property, was
finally passed on motion of John Chapek seconded by H.H.Cox be the following vote
Ayes : J.B.Berke:�aeyer, John Chapek, H.E.Cox, ?.F.Sinsheimer.
Does : None.

The application of the Rational Dollar Stores, Inc., for per:;iit to hang a sign at 732

The petition of the Standard Oil Company for permit to remove one 280 gallon gasoline
storage tank and install in lieu thereof,one 1000 gallon tank was granted on motion of H.E.Cox
seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer, with the provision that wort be done under the supervision of the
City Engineer.
Application of the Valley Electric Company for permit to install two Standard ileon
Signs for the Standard Stations, the one at 1066 I;Ionterey Street - the other at 205 Higuera
Street were granted on motion of H.E.Cox seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.

pplication of the Santa I,aria Gas Company for permit to cut pavement at intersection'
of I.Iarsh and Chorro Streets for purpose of locating and repairing Gas leak was continued.

Ordinance No. 168 ( New :series } iW Ordinance amending license Ordinance iio. 76
( New Series ) by adding thereto Section 51A, requiring that a license be charged temporarily
located Restaurants and similar businesses- and requiring the filing of a Bond to the effect
that licensees will remain in such business at least six months, was passed to print on

Ordinance No. 166 ( i4ew Series ) An Ordinance licensing Contractors was continued
to the next meeting.
Certain unpaid licenses for the July quarter of 1932, were referred to the police
Department for collection.
J.J.zndre and Com- iittee appeared before the Council and invited that Body to
participate in, and cooperate with the Coruaittee in the reception of guests of the local bodge
of I.D.,.S at the Convention of that Order to be held in the City of San Luis Obispo beginning
;:Ionday, September 12th. On motion of John Chapek seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the following
