Present : J.B.Berkemeger, L.J.Defosset, =.P.Howell, Joseph Leary, L.F.Sinsheimer. Absent : hone. The minutes of June 5th and 12th 1933, were read and approved as read on motion of J.3.3erkerneyer seconded by u.P.Howell. The-following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of-J.B.Be seconded by L.J.Defosset, with the provision that the Contractor in the last named permit take a license for contracting before commencing work on said building: A.F.Fitzgerald - Repair Bldg damaged by fire in Block 17 Cost $ 600.00 E.D.Sworthout• - Enclose Porch lot 3 Block 18 Central Addn 50.00 A.H.3razil - Residence & Garage Serrano Tract 59000.00 The following applications for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council. on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell Harry N. Triplett Catering 1025 Court Street W.E.Smith Cigar Store Railroad avenue Fred I -iTarburg Ice Cream,Soft Drinks, Sandwiches i.itchell Park it R.Bassi was granted permit to remove two pepper trees from premises of John Berkemeye' Johnson Street near ::sarsh Street, with the provision that work be supervised by City Engineer Petition of Caroline C. Poulsen for transfer of license for Cigar Store, 1117 Chorro Street to J.H.Braneh granted, on :notion of L.J.Defosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer. Application of Standard Oil Company of California for permit to hang four wooden signs, atop Service Stations at Monterey and Santa 3osa Streets, Higuera and usos Streets, Higuera and Marsh Streets and South and Higuera Streets referred to Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council, on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell. Application of Franco F. Chavis for permit to move Billiard and Pool business from 866 Falm Street to 887 Palm Street, granted on motion dilly seconded and carried. Application and Bond of Carlo Borlandelli, together with license fee, for registration as Class " E " Contractor laid over to the next meeting of the Council. Petition of Ida Belle Cook et.al. received and ordered placed on file. Applications for the regular quarterly licenses were presented and referred to the ;ommissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council, on motion of R.P.Howell econded by J.B.Berkemeyer , as was also the petition of Cline's Electric Shop for permit to place a horizontal Neon Sign with a Vertical Neon sign at San Luis Hotel, 697 Higuera Street Ordinance No. 171 ( New Series ) An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 76 ( New Serif y adding two new Sections to be numbered 89* , relating to the business of Laundries and Dry leaning, and 95j , relating to the business of Bakeries, was finally passed on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer by the following vote: Ayes : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset, R.P.Howe11 , L.F.Sinsheimer. Noes : Joseph Leary. Absent : None, Ordinance No. 172 ( New Series ) An Ordinance amending 914bdivision "C" of Section 2 and Section 4 of Ordinance No. 166 ( New Series ) relating to Contractors, was finally passed on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by R.P.Howell by the following vote: Ayes : J.B.Berkemeyer,L.J.Defosset, R.P.Howell , Joseph Leary , L.F.Sinsheimer.
