City Hall, idonday, august 7th 1933 - 7 :30 P.Li,
City Council met in regular session - Vice President of the Council L.J.Defosset
presiding.
Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset, R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary.
Absent : Iviayor L.F.Sinsheimer,
The minutes of July 24th were read and approved as read on motion of R.P.Howell
seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.�- .Howell the application of Theo.P:I.Maino
for per:iit to repair building in Block 13 at a Cost of` 500.00 granted.
Application of :.:rs. Ida M. Cherry for permit to repair building held over until
such time as the Contractor, 1.4- T.Vialker, complies with Ordinance relative to Contractors Bond.
The following applications for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of public
Health and Safety for report to the Council :

On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer
seconded by R.P.Howell
the application
of the Gilmore
Oil Company for penait`to hang a metal sign at Service Station corner Higuera and Carmel Street
and of the Valley Electric Company for permit to hang a Neon Sign for Herrera Bros., at 987
Monterey Street were referred to the Commissioner of _ public Health and Safety for report to
the Council,
Application of _:(idland Counties Public service Corporation # 212 for permit to do
certain work on Osos Street between ?:Iarsh treet and Islay Street, as set out in application on
file, granted on :lotion of J.B.Berke.meyer seconded by R.P.Howell,
Application of Nehi Bo.,tling Company, by ;d.P.Hershberger; for " Wholesale Off Sale "
license for Beer . referred to the Co.,i.missioner of Public Health and Safety for report.

Co,aiunication of C.R.Teach, Superintendent of City Schools, received and placed on
Bond of henry C. Dalessi for Class " E " Contractor referred back to the applicant
because of insufficiency.
Reports of the City Collector and the Police Judge for the mouth of July, 1933,
sere received and ordered placed on file on :notion of R.P.aowell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
Claims against the City for the mouth of July 1933, were ordered paid subject to the
pproval of the heads of the respective departments and the 1dayor.

On motion of - H.P.Howell.seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the following applications of
line's Electric Shop for permit to hang signs were kranted, with the provision that said signs
hung in accordance with Ordinance and under the supervision of the City Engineer:
