The minutes of August 21st and :august 28th were read and approved as read on motion
of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by Joseph Leary,
application of Evabelle Long- Fuller for license for Theatrical Entertainment at
High School Auditorium, referred to Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report
to the Council.
Application of E.W.Lawrence for per,�iit to connect with City Sewer on Lawton Street
between Mitchell give and Vloodbridge Street granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded
by Joseph Leary.
Application of Ida IA. layers, together with Bond, for " On Sale " license referred
to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council on motion duly
seconded and carried.
The reports of the City Collector and the Police Judge for the month of August 1933,
were received and ordered placed on file.
Claims against the City for the month of August were ordered paid subject to the
approval of the heads of the respective departments and the Mayor, on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer
seconded by L.J.Defosset.
Relative to license fee for Skating Rink : It was moved by L.J.Defosset and
seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer that the City Attorney furnish the Council with an amendment to
Section 80 of License Ordinance No. 76 ( New Series.), providing.for reduction in licnese fee ...
for Skating Rink, from 20.00 per quarter to .$ 10.00 per quarter. The motion carried
by unanimous vote.
Ordinance No, 174.( New Series ) An Ordinance levying a Tax for the current fiscal
year 1933 -1934 upon all taxable property within the City of San Luis Obispo, and fixing the
rate of such tax at $ 1.55 on each one hundred dollars in value of stLid property was finally
passed on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer by the following vote:
Ayes : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosaet, Joseph Leary, L.F.Sinsheimer,
Noes None.
Absent : R.P.Howell,
Application of James A. Greenelsh, together with Bond, for " Wholesale Off Sale "

pplication of Lathlyn Inman :.for licnese for Lunch Counter at 1177 I:Iarsh Street.
Petition of Helen Chapin and E.A.Shafer for permit to change position of wooden sign
t corner of Higuera and :,Iorro Streets granted on motion duly seconded and carried,
Application of C. Tablang and Joaquin for licenses for Billiards and Pool and
igars Sideline at 162 Higuera Street granted on motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by
J.B.Berkemeyer.
The application of Franco Chavis for transfer of license for Soft Drinks from 887
6treet to 866 Palm Street granted on motion r. >duly seconded and carried.
The City Attorney was directed to furnish the Council with a draft of an Ordinance
amending Ordinance No. 170 (.New Series ) regulating and.licensing the sale of Beer.

The following matters pending were continued to the next meeting : Petition of
Y.R.Tonini, Jr. for periait to use a certain portion of Sycamore Street at its intersection
with North Broad Street; Claim of Sidney Goldtree in re refund of Taxes; Application of
Midland Counties Public Service Corporation Ido. 211 for permit to do certain work on Higuera
Street between Archer Street and South Street; Application of Pacific Telephone and Telegr
Company for permit to set pole on Story Street; Application of ?I.E.Clark for registration
as Class " E " Contractor; Petition of T.F.Weaver in re premises at 1416 Palm Street, and
the petition of P.A.H.Arata in re tax sales.
The matter of a proposed Ordinance, by meat dealers, regulating the hours of
business when uncooked and uncured meats may be sold was before the Council. :::attar discusses
It was moved by L.J.Defesset and seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer that the two contending factions
send two representatives each, to meet with the Council and discuss the matter to endeavor to
arrive at some amicable solution. The motion carried. Joseph Leary voting ^ No ^.
On motion of !,,.J.I)efosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the following licenses were
ordered cancelled
