City Hall, Monday, April 2nd. 1934 - 7 :30 P.M.
City Council met in regular session - Vice President of the Council L.J.Defosset
presiding.
Present J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset, R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary,
Absent Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer.
The minutes of March 19th and 26th were read and approved as read on motion of
R.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer*
the following applications for permit to build were granted on motion duly seconded
and carried :
C. O'Leary - Remodel and stucco old residence Block 62
Cost $ 17000.00
Edgar F. Clark - New Roof & Foundation residence Lot 3 Blk 2 Southside Ado Cost 500000
Merchandising Bond of T.J.Hollinger, with R.0.Waters and J. Hollinger as Sureties,
was referred to the Commissioner of Finance for report at the next meeting.
Applications of Robert E. Calvert for licenses for Restaurant and Cigars Sideline
at 856 Honterey Street were referred to Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for
investigation and report to the Council as was also, the applications of Cline's Electric
Shop and Herrera Bros for permit to hang signs at 684 Higuera Street and at 898 Monterey St.,
respectively.
On motion of R.r.Howell seconded by J.oseph'Leary the application of the Santa Liaria ..
Gas Company for permit to out pavement 4 ft x 4 ft on Pacific Street betweeg Broad Jtreet and
Nipomo Street to install gas service for P. Angeloni Laundry was referred to the Commissioner
of Public Works with power to act.

The report of _the City Clerk for the month of February and those of the
City Collector and Police Judge for the month of March 1934, were received and ordered placed
on file on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell.
Claims against the City for the month of March were ordered paid, 'on motion of
R.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer, subject to the approval of the heads of the respective
departments and the II -ayor.
Applications for-the regular quarterly licenses were granted on motion of
IR.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
The application of Merrifield Music and Electric Company for permit to hang a
metal sign with wood frame at 786 Higuera Street was denied on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer
Iseconded by Joseph Leary.
The following matters were continued .: re matter of unpaid licenses ; re matter
of amending Section 2 of Subdivision "C " of Contractors license Ordinance; re matter of
proposed amendment to Tax Ordinance No 13 ( New Series ).
On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell the meeting adjourned to i;onday,
April 9th 1934 at 7 :30 P.M.
