City Council met in regular session - Vice President of the Council L.J.Defosset
presiding.
Iresent : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset, R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary.
Absent : Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer.
The minutes of July 16th and 23rd were read and approved as read on motion of
?.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary.
The applications et•6.a$. Shadinger for licenses for Restaurant and Cigars Sidel
t 1127 " onterey Street, and the following applications for permit to hang signs were
referred to the Commissioner of Public Health a-bd Safety for report :
E.F.hogers - For political banner across Higuera-Street from Wineman Hotel to
:Darden Jr. Building,
Joe Blazel - To hang cloth sign 3' x 180 flush with building for Geo. pounder at 695
higuera Street.
Lars, D.C.Jean- To move Street Clock from 790 Higuera Street-to 867 I•:Ionterey Street and
install at new location.
Cline's Electric Shou - To hang horizontal opalescent sign reading " Taxi " at Iviission
Taxi 987 Monterey Street, also, to move present Sears,Roebuck
sign from former location to 879 Higuera Street,

Toe reports of the City Collector, the Police Judge and the Pound Master for the
onto of July were received and ordered placed on file.
Claims against the City for the month of July were ordered paid subject to the
approval of the heads of the respeotive.departments and the Mayor, on motion of R.P.Howell
seconded by Joseph Leary.
Re.: sign at idorth and South entrance to City : Communication form Electrical
;Products Corporation of Fresno read. Discussion It was moved by Joseph Leary
!and seconded by ?.P.Howell that the Clerk request the Electrical Products Corporation to

furnish the Council with Contract covering proposed ideon Arch Display Signs, for their
approval. in accordance with letter of July 28th +1-19340
The matter of renewal of Insurance on the City 's fleet of Automobiles for
L Public Liability and.Property Damage ) was referred to the Commissioner of Finance
and revenue.
On motion of R.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the following delinquent
licenses were referred to the City Attorney :
