City Council met in adjourned cession In the absence of Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer, and Vice President of the Council L.J.Defosset, Joseph B. Berkemeyer was nominated and duly elected Chairman of the meet Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary. Absent : L.J.Defosset, layor Im.F.Sinsheimer. Application of J.W.Louk fur permit to place a sheet iron sign -with wood frame ( 3 ft x loft ) flush with building at 666 Higuers titre -it was referred to the Co..1,1issioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council on motion oduly seconded and carried. Petition of Clara I. Cullen for transfer Of licenses for Merchandise and Cigars as a Sideline at 100 Santa Hosa Street to Rose Marie Cobb was granted on motion of R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary. neport of the Pound Master for the month of August 1934 received and ordered placed on file. Petition of Duke's "star Bakery protesting against license fee for outside Bakeries doing business within the City of San Luis Obispo was laid over to the next meeting. Application of , na L- Mercer for license for Lunch Counter at 1177 Harsh Street granted on motion of R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary. Petition of Board of Directors of Christian Science Church for permit to place signs at intersection of iguera and Garden Streets continued. Application of Midland Counties Public Service Corpd)ration # 219 for work upon Osos Street between Pacific Street and Rachel Streets in connection with the proposed installation of 10 electric Street lights, as wore particularly set out in application on file, was granted on motion of Joseph Leary seconded by R.P.Howell. Petition of Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company under date of August 23rd. 1934, for permit :.to do certain work, as set out in said application on file, was laid over All unfinished matters were continued to the next meeting.
