City Council met in regular session — Vice President of the Council
L.J.Defosset presiding.
present : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset, R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary.
Absent, : Idayor L.F.Sinsheimer.
The minutes of February 4th and 11th were read and approved as read on motion
of R.P.Howell.seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer.
Application of Smee's Plumbing, by John Smee, for per:.iit to break pavement on
onterey Street between Essex Street and Toro Street, granted on motion of J.B.Berke;neyer
seconded by Joseph Leary.
Petition of Board of Directors of Christian Science Church, by Liary L. Valla
Secretary, for permit to change location of a direction sign, from corner of Higuera and
rden Streets to a position in front of Woolworth Store, referred to the Commissioner of
ublic Health and Safety for report.
Ordinance No. 179 ( New Series ) An Ordinance amending Ordinance iio. 76
( New Series ) by adding a new Section to be numbered Section 34#g, providing a license for
business of bottling and selling Soft Drinks was finally passed on :notion of R.P.Howell
conded by Joseph Leary by the following vote:

Application of Foster & kleiser Company for permit to erect a Sign Board in
Block 23 — north side of Higuera Street between Osos Street and Santa -Rosa Street, granted
on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell.
The petition of Merrifield Music and Electric Company for permit to hang a
sign at 786 Higuera Street granted on motion of J.B.Berkeineyer seconded by R.P.Howell ,
with the provision that work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer and in
accordance with the provisions of Ordinance.
Application of Be Hightower for license for restaurant at 995 Higuera Street
granted on motion dilly seconded and carried.
Merchandising Bond of Clarence 31rown, with Ted II. Brown as Surety, was approved
and the Surety accepted on favorable report and motion of R.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Ber

Re : petition of Grace R. Arata, Admx. of Estate of P.A.H.Arata, for a compromise
of amount due for delinquent taxes against a certain parcel of land in Block 7 of aathway
Addition: It was moved by R.P.Howell and seconded by- J- B.Berkemeyer that the sum of
12.50 be accepted by the City of San Luis Obispo in full settlement of all delinquent
Tax against a certain parcel of land in Block 7 of Hathway-Addition, and -upon receipt of

such sum the City Clerk is directed to cancel such delinquent assessments. The motion carried.

Taxes. laid over.
On motion of J.3. Berkemeyer seconded by R.F.iiowell the meeting adjourned to
