City Council met in regular session - Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer presiding.
Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Befosset, R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary, L.F.Sinsheimer.
Absent : None.
The minutes of October 21st and 28th were read and approved as read.
Application of Irene J. Carpenter for permit to repair stairway at rear of build-
ings in Block 17 at a cost of $ 50.00 granted, on motion of J.B.Berke,aeyer seconded by
R.P.Howell.
The following applications for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of
Public Health and Safety for report, on motion of J.B. erkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell:

Application of Randle's Inc.,.for permit to hang a peon Sign at Blue Bell Bakery
at 974 Monterey Street referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for
estigation and report on .motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by I;.P.Howell.
The following applications for permit to lay curbing and gutter were referred to
"he Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and report :
4Y-r.-',-Hollister - 130 ft of cement curbing on the South side of Essex Street between
ivarsh Street and Pacific Street.

50 ft of cement curbing and gutter on the east side of Grove Street;
25 ft of cement curbing and gutter on the North side Phillips Lane- in
Block 138 Phillips Addition.
On :notion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by Joseph • -mlary the application of the

cables, fire alar,n circuits and other existing telephone circuits and equipment from old

Application of Santa I.iaris Gas Company for parfait to break a hole 2' x o° in
pavement on i•:urray Avenue just off Santa Eosa Street for purpose of repairing Gas leak,
was referred to the Commissioner of Public ';forks for investigation and report on motion of
R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary.
Petition of County of Sari iuis Obispo, by F.hiarion Smith, Supt. of Construction,
for per "it to cut pavement 3ft x 20ft on Osos 6treet between Zonterey Street and calm Street
to connect sewer line for new Court House with main Sewer line on Osos, Street was received
and referred to the Commissioner J.B.Berkemeyer for investigation and report, on motion of
R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary.
Petition of R.J.Bettencourt for permit to connect a private sewer line, proposed ti
drain premises at 183 Stenner Street, situate outside City, with the City's main sewer line
on :::urray Avenue was received, and after discussion same was referred to the Commissioner o�
Public l:;Iorks for investigation and report.

Application of Hundle's Inc., for registration as a Class " E " Contractor,
together with Surety Bond in the amount of 4 500.00 and license fee of y 15.00 was received
and on motion of.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary the Bond was approved and application
granted .
The report of the City Treasurer for the month of .September 1935, and those of
the City I-ollector and Poundmaster for the month of October 1935 were received and ordered
placed on file.
Claims against the City for the month of October 1935 were ordered paid, on moti
f R.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer, subject to the approval of the heads of the
espective Departments and the L -ayor.
On favorable report and motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the
etition of C.J.Paradi.s for permit to install 2.- 10,000 gallon underground gasoline storag
anks in Block 30, corner 'Jonterey and Toro Streets, at Hancock Oil Company Service Station
nd Ydholesale Depot, was granted with the provision that work be done in accordance with
rdinance, .ules and regulations of Board of Fire Underwriters and under the supervision
f the City Engineer.

A.D.Crocker, representing American Red Cross, presented a letter in which it was
quested that the City Council give red Cross official permission to take charge of aid
case of disaster in City of San Luis Obispo. Idatter discussed. On motion of
.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer, I,;r Crocker was authorized to withdraw letter and
present at some future date. with more data from Red Cross headquarters.
There was discussion relative to a claim of R.Bassi in the amount of 6 60.000
No action taken.
On motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by Joseph teary the meeting adjourned to
Tuesday, November 12th 19350 at 7 :30 P.''0
