City Hall, Monday, December 16th 1935 7 :30 P.i.
City council met in regular session. In the absence of ;'Iayor L.F.Sinsheimer
and Vice President of the Council L.J.Defosset, Commissioner of Public Works Joseph B.
Berkemeyei was duly and regularly elected to preside.
Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, R.P.Howell, Joseph teary.
Absent : L.J.Defosset, Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer.
The minutes of December 2nd and 9th were read and approved as read on motion of
R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Teary.
The merchandising Bond of Ni.A.Freemen with Louis R. Heyd as Surety was approved
and the Surety accepted on motion of R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary.
Application of Jackson G. Wilson for license for Tobacco Vending Machine at 427
Higuera Street; Tower Drive -in Cafe, referred to the Commissioner of Public health and
Safety for report.
Application of Rundle's Inc..for permit':.to hang a double face Neon Sign for
G.H.Shadinger, 1129 Ivionterey Street, referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and
Safety for investigation and report.
Petition of union Hardware and Plumbing Company for permit to cut pavement on
ourt Street between Monterey Street and Higuera Street for purpose of repairing defective
ewer, referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and report, on motion
f R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary.
The report of the City Clerk for the month of November 1935 received and ordered
placed on file.
Applications for the regular quarterly licenses were presented and referred to
the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report.
Certain petitions relative to the installation of Street lights in the vicinity of
Broad Street were laid over to be taken up at the first meeting in January 1936.
Application of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for permit to do certa
work on ?,?arch Street between Garden Street and Chorro Street in accordance with Blue Print
.furnished, was granted, on motion of R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary, provided the
blue print is approved by the City Engineer.
