Present : J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset, R.P.Howell, Joseph teary. Absent : Mayor L.F.Sinsheimer. The minutes of May 4th and 11th were read and approved as read. Sinclair with L.S.Graves as Surety was approved and the Surety accepted, on :notion of R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary. Application of Veteran's of Foreign Wars for license for Boxing at ';linter Garden, dated Itiay 12th 1936, referred to the Co:imissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation report. On.motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by :;.P.Howell the application of the Union Oi ompany for permit to renew telephone poles at corner of Pismo and Garden Street, and at ismo and Broad Streets granted . Application of Santa Maria Gas Company for permit to dig trench across high Stree t the intersection of Beebee Street for the purpose of repairing gas line was granted on vorable report and motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by Joseph Leary. In a communication Rev. John Harnett, General Director of Fiesta de las Flores , requested permit to use City Streets for Fiesta Parade, Saturday morning June 6th. On motion of P..P.Eowell seconded by J.B.Berkeieyer the request was granted, and it was ordered that cooperation of Police Department be given at the ime, as well as throughout Fiesta. The request of tie American Legion Auxiliary, by Corra F. ;,astman Secretary, and of Veteran's of Foreign !'!ars, by J.H.T:elson, for per:ait to sell poppies on City Streets, Saturday, Miay 23rd granted on motion ;.duly seconded and carried. The report of the Police Judge for the month ending April 30th 1936 received and ordered placed on file. Re : cooperative work, Forest Service - Fire Protection ; On motion of R.P.Howell seconded by J.B.Berkemayer it was ordered that $ 100.00 be appropriated from the City 'rater Fund, to be applied on salary of Patrolman for San Luis Ohispo dater Shed for the summer season of 1936. Clerk authorized to draw warrant . Applications of Veteran's of Foreign Wars, dated April 21st and 28th, and May 4th for Boxing at the 14inter Garden, were granted on motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by 1 H.P.Howell. On motion duly seconded and carried the application of Rundle's Inc., for permit to hang signs at the following,named locations was granted with the provision that work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer and in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance : F.J.Bareellos - Window neon outline 895 Monterey Str::et Clarence Brown - Neon outline 1037 Chorro Street H.C.Bolton - Double face Neon Sign 888 z ;ronterey Street Eric ' +'dickenden - Double face Neon Sign 837 ,vionterey Street retition of !.Irs. idellie Quintana and Ida Keveney for an adjustment on delinquent on property ( part lots 4 -5 1 6 Bloc: 89 ) was denied on motion of R•P.Howell seconded J.B.Berkameyer. i;Ierchants petition on Sunday closing continued. On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell the following licenses were eferred to the City Attorney Y ,Oct.Qt.1935 # 631 - wooden Shoe Cafe Restaurant 5.00 �Jan.Qt.1936 ; J1233 - Wooden Shoe Cafe Restaurant 5.00 10.00 On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by 3.P.Howell the following licenses were ered cancelled : ll9pril Qt. 1935 : 2049 - A.1'I.Shurrager Communication of L.H.Gibson, District Engineer of highway Co.nmission, acknowledging Qt. receipt of letter of transmittal and gap expressing present idea of Council re routing of Midse Flowers traffic through Cit,y of San Luis Obispo ordered placed on file. Qt. XHe : extension of Sandercock Street to Beebee Street : It w&s :coved by 5.00 J.B.Berkemeyer and seconded by ::.P.Howell that the City Attorney draft a 'resolution for : $ 1757 the extension of Sandercock Street through a part of Lot 4 Block 151 of iiarfords Addition as delineated on a certain iJ�p submitted by City Engineer. 1!otion carried.
