Verbal application of !:ir. handschy of !�:idway Hotel for permit to string colored lights across Strr-et at intersection of Higuera and Osos Streets referred to the next meeting. Ordinance Uo. 183 ( New Series ) An Ordinance levying a Tax for the current fiscal year ( 1936 -1937 ) upon all taxable property within the City of San Luis Obispo and fixing the rate of such tax at $ 1.43 on each one hundred dollars in value of said property was finally passed, on motion of R.P.Howell seconded by Joseph teary by the following vote Ages L.J.Defosset, R.P.Howell, Joseph Leary. Petition of L.D.Handschy ( I.iidway _otel ) for permit to string an electric ighting line from top of I:iidway Hotel building across street to the top of iierkemeyer ilding, corner of Osos and Higuera Streets,• was denied on motion of L.J.Defosset seconde Joseph Leary. Claims against the City for the month of August were ordered paid subject to approval of the heads of the respective Departments and the Layor, on motion of rt.P.Lotsi econded by J.B.Berkemeyer. City Engineer presented map showing curb line, width of sidewalk, position of trees etc., on Branch Street : b:iatter discussed and City Attorney directed to bring draft of Ordinance. Tentative Bids were submitted by the following firms on Public Liability and Property Damage insurance for City's Auto Fleet ; L.4r.i:arm1, Grace R. _4rata, vans Bro4rage, :.yers Insurance.Agency, John F. _arrington, Ralph C. Kennedy and L T. Curtright. On moti of L.J.Defosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer the said bids were taken under advisement for one week. On motion duly seconded and carried the following applications for licenses were granted : Vim. and iiaud C. Kneppel - Lodging House 1018 Pacific street Vera B.hicl�amara & J.iii.Perry Restaurant & Cigars Sideline 856 _onterey Street tppli.cations of Rundle's Inc. for permit to hang signs at the following named locations were granted on motion duly seconded and carried, with the provision that said signs be hung according to provisions of Ordinance and under supervision of the Building Inspector : John C.
