Communication of E..Bingham, County Health Officer, re Garden Creek, ordered received and placed on file. Re : applications of Frank E.Smith for licenses for Restaurant, Soft Drinks, and Cigars Sideline at 978 ::'onterey Street: Matter discussed. On motion of R.'P.Howell seconded by Joseph Leary matter referred to the City Attorney for opinion and report to the Council as to whether licenses could legally issue. Licenses having been issued to Richard J.Young and paid, for the same location for the present quarter. Application of L.E'."fashburn for permit to renew sewer on Higuera Street between Essex Street and Johnson Street, and the application of .Toe Venema for permit to con- ' nect with sewer on South Broad Street near :Coodbridge Street laid over until the plumber named therein, i.e. ( John E.Smee ) takes license for contracting. :application of Rudolph's Electric, by H.W.Rudolph, for permit to hang a Neon Sign for San Luis Bowling Recreation at 1115 Santa Rosa Street granted on motion of Joseph Leary seconded by R.P.Howell with the provision that the said sign hang according to the provisions of Ordinance and that work be done under the supervision of the City ingineer. It was ordered that a letter of condolence be sent to :rlayor L.F.Sinsheimer on account of his bereavement.
