Present ; J.B.Berkemeyer, L.J.Defosset, R.P.Fiowell, Joseph Leary, L.F.Sinsheimer. Absent : None. The following application for permit to build was granted Margaret Alexander - To place present garage on concrete foundation on part lot 18 Block 183 Ingleside Tract Cost $ 50.00 Application of Albert Nelson for permit to lay 25ft of 5 ft park sidewalk and curbing on the north side of High Street between Church Street and Nipomo Street referred to the Commissioner of Public 7-lorks for investigation and report to the Council on motion duly seconded and carried. Application of Midland Counties Public Service Corporation # 249 for permit to do certain work on i.4urray Avenue and Grand Avenue between Graves Street and Grand Avenue, more particularly described in application on file, was received and referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and report to the Council. Letter received from The Gamewell Company relative to the installation of Fire Alarm equipment and submitting prices on B & C Types of Diaphone horn signals : After discussion it was the unanimous opinion of the Council that a temporary Siren be ordered until such time as a permanent arrangement can be decided upon. Clerk directed to write Clerk's of various Cities having Diaphone horn outfits, for an expression of opinion of, and experience with such equipment.' City Engineer filed report on the petition of James Bickmore for permit to construct 40ft,of reinforced concrete retaining wall along the northerly bank of San Luis Obispo Creek in Block 61. Uopn the report and recommendation of the City Engineer the petition was ordered granted, on met ion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by R.P.Howell, with the provision that the work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer. Petition of M.L.Reynolds for transfer of licenses for Merchandise and Gasoline Pump at 707 Santa Barbara Avenue to William A. Spurlock granted on favorable report and motion of L.J.Defosset seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer. Applications of Frank E. Smith for licenses for Restaurant, Soft Drinks and Cigars Sideline at 978 Monterey Street laid over. Petitions of George Dawson for permit to hang certain signs at 1088 Higuera Street laid over antil Contractor takes license for Contracting. Re: Police Radio Service.: Discussion. It was moved by L.J.Defosset and seconded by J.B.Berkemeyer that the City of San Luis Obispo inter into contract setisfacto �fr to the City, with the Forest Radio Service, and that the City contribute $ 500.00 toward installation of such service on such conditions. The motion carried. . There was discussion re Electrical Code. On motion of J.B.Berkemeyer seconded by L.J.Defosset the meeting adjourned. Approved this �% 'day of 1938. City6,,Clerk Mayor"
