City Council met in regular session - Mayor L. F. Sinsheimer presiding.

The minutes of November 21st and 28th were read and approved as read.
The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of
J. B. Berkemeyer seconded by R. P. Howell:

Application of Darwin Brussow for permit to move a residence from.front of
a part of Lot 6, Block 76 to the rear of said part of lot 6, block 76, referred, on
motion of J. B. Berkemeyer seconded by R. P. Howell, to the City Engineer and Building
Inspector for written report.
Application of Jennie Robasciotti and Delphin Robasciotti for license for
Soft Drinks at 1034 Morro Street referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and
Safety for investigation.and report to the Council.
Application of Neon Sales and Service for permit to hang a Neon Sign at
815 Palm Street for Wee Heng Low referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and
Safety for investigation and report to the Council, as was also, the application of
San Luis Fish Co., by Lulu Bowlus, for permit to hang a metal sign at 680 Higuera Street.
Petition of T. A. Greenleaf for permit to recess curb and ramp sidewalk for
driveway at 1 9-27 Chorro Street referred, on motion of R. P..Ho,n!ell, seconded by L. J.
Defosset, to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and report.
Application of Guy Farnham for permit to cut trench across High Street
between Hutton Street and Nipomo Street, to install sewer for new residence at 714 High
Street, referred to Commissioner of Public Works for report.
Application of Santa Maria Gas Company for permit to lay 200 ft. of 2" main
on High Street between Hutton Street and King Street, referred to the Commissioner of
Public Works for report to the Council.
Application of Henry C. Dalessi for registration as Class "E" Contractor,
Berkemeyer, it was ordered that Items 1 -2- & 4 as set out in said letter be granted.
The motion carried. It was then moved by J. B. Berkemeyer, and seconded by Joseph Leary,
that Item 3 as set out in said letter be denied. The motion lost. Commissioner R. P.
Howell to take charge of decorations for City.
Communications received from Jennings Tent Show, by Fred H. Jennings, Mgr.
requesting the Council to consider the matter of reducing the license fee for Tent Shows
within the City Limits. On motion duly seconded and carried, matter referred to the
Commissioner of Finance for investigation and report.
The reports of the City Collector, the Police Judge and the Pound Master
for the month of November received and ordered placed on file.

Re: Lowe Sanitary District Sewer: Members of Lowe Sanitary District Board
appeared before the Council re: their application for permit to connect sewer for that
District with the Sewer System of the City of San Luis Obispo. Platter discussed. It
was suggested that the City Attorney draw an agreement to be made a part of the said
application.
Representative of Salvation Army appeared and recuested the Council to
contribute to the Army Kitchen to assist in feeding transients. Matter discussed. It
:vas moved by L. 7.. Defosset and second.ed*by J. B. Berkemeyer that the Council contribute
$25.00 per month for a period of four months, commencing December 1st, 1938, for the
hereinabove mentioned purpose.
The Merchandising Bond of Leo B. McNamara with The Aetna Casualty and
Surety Company Bond in the amount of $200.00 as Surety, was ordered cancelled, the prin-
cipal having fulfilled obligation under said Bond. 1

Santa Maria Gas Co.: To cut pavement on Buchon Street between Morro Street and
Chorro Street to install gas service to new residence.
Guarantee Bldg.
Loan Assn. by H. FT.
McBride. To connect with sewer on Rachel Street between Osos Street and
High Street.
r_polication of Mrs. I. 0. Compton for permit to cut certain trees at Grove
and Mill Street ordered placed on file. ,
Matter of application of W. B. Roselip for permit to do certain improvement
work at Lizzie & Fixlini Streets held over until such time as street grade is considered.
Ordinance No. 188 ( Nei^: Series) An Ordinance creating the office of Chief
Electrical Inspector; adopting by reference the "Uniform Electrical Code "; providing
for the issuance of permits and the collection of fees therefor; and providing penalties
for the violation thereof was finally passed on motion of R. P. Hot ^.Tell, seconded by
T. B. Berkemever by the following vote:
