The meeting of the City Council held December.5th, having adjourned to
this date, there being present three of the Councilmen., viz: Vice President of the
Council, L. J. Defosset, T. B. Berkemeyer, and Joseph Leary, they adjourned to Monday
December 12th, 1938 at 7:30 P. M.

Present: T. B. Berkemeyer, L. J. Defosset, R. P. Howell, Joseph Leary, L.F. Sinsheimer.
Absent: None
The following application for permit to:-build was granted:
Marinus V. Jensen - Residence & Garage part lot 3- Blk 7, Anholm Addn. Cost 5,210.00
The Merchandising Bond of Firestone Auto Supply and Service Store (J. A.
Kistler) T,rith F. C. Kimball es surety was approved, surety accepted and license ordered
issued.
Re: Merchandising Bond of Paul J. Hernandez with Certified Check for
$200.00 as surety: On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by J. B. Berkemeyer, it was
ordered that the petitioner be permitted to substitute the name of Marie K. Parker in
lieu of the .certified check and that the certified check be released to the petitioner.
The motion carried.

transfer of license for Restaurant and Cigars Sideline at 676 Higuera Street to Sonza,
Craveiro & Son referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investi-
ration and report to the Council.
On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by L. J. Defosset the following
petitions were referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for report to the Council:
Applications of L. C. Bell, David Ball, Jane & Elizabeth Thompson and Archie Norton for
recessing curb for driveways, and the application of Walter F. Buck for permit to lay
50 ft. of curbing on Grand Avenue.:.
Petition of R. J. Bello for permit to install one (1) - 1000 gallon gasoline
storage tank A,ithin building on part of lots 4 and 5, block 87, Mission Vineyard Tract,
referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report.
Petition of Neon Sales &_ Service (Sam Holland) for permit to hang an
Electric Sign at 709 Fliauera Street for Fire stone Rubber Company, and the application
of Lulu Bowlus for permit to hang signs for San Luis Fish Company at 680 Higuera Street,
were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and
report.
Recuest of G. R. Banks for permit to remove a tree from sidewalk area at
689 Church Street referred to the Commissioner of Public 7,Torks for investigation and
report, on motion duly seconded and carried.

District Board asking permit to complete the laying of the sewer main and the back-
filling of the tunnel under Southern Pacific Railroad tracks on Murray Street ordered
filed wLth other- date. on file, in connection therewith.

Application of T. A. Greenleaf for permit to cut down curb for a distance

Ordinance and under .supervision of the City 7ngineer.
Petition of Guy Farnham for permit to open trench across High Street for
purpose of installing sewer for new residence'at 714 High Street granted, on motion of
J. B. Berkemeyer, seconded by L. J. Defosset, with the proviso that petitioner comply
with Ordinance relative to deposit and Bond and that work be done under the supervision
of the City Engineer.
