The following application for permit to build was granted:

Cost $ 500.00
The application of Frank Silveria for permit to move a corrugated iron,garage
from lot 4, block 9 to lot 1, block 119, Reeds Addition, placing same on property.line
on Carmel Street was granted, on motion of J. B. Berkemeyer, seconded by L. J. Defosset,
with the provision that should location interfere with neighbor, the building be set
further back or removed.
On motion of J. B. Berkemeyer, seconded by Joseph Leary, the following appli-
cations for licenses were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for
report to the Council:

Application of Gerome Piccardo, by Theo. M. Maino, for permit to out Pave-
ment 2' x 32' on Monterey Street between Andrews Street and City Limits for the pur-
pose of installing sewer service for new residence referred to the Ccmmissioner of
Public Works for investigation and report, on motion of Joseph Leary seconded by
L. J. Defosset.
Application of Lawrence R. Bonjour for registration as a Class "E" Con-
tractor, together with United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company bond in the amount
of $500.00 and registration fee of $15.00 received, and on motion of R. P. Howell
seconded.by.J. B..Berkemeyer, it was ordered that surety be e.ccepted, bond approved
and registration granted.
Application of James Jepson for registration as Class "E" contractor, to-
gether with United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company Bond in the amount of $500.00.
and registration fee of $15.00 received, and on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by:
J. B. Berkemeyer, the surety was accepted, bond approved and registration granted.
Report of the.City Collector on unpaid licenses for January quarter, 1939,
received and referred to the Police Department for collection.
Ordinance No. 191 (New Series) An Ordinance establishing grades on Mountain
View Street between Lincoln Street and Chorro Street was finally passed on motion of
J. B. Berkemeyer, seconded by R. P. Howell, by the following vote:

Application of Santa Maria _Gas Co. for permit to lay a.411 gas main to
replace old 2" main on Pismo Street between Archer Street and Chorro Street granted
on motion of J. B. •Berkemeyer, seconded by L. J. Defosset, with the provision that
work be done under supervision of the City Engineer.
Application of Earl Berry by Union Hardware and Plumbing Co. for permit
to cut pavement on Broad Street between.Christian Ave. and Francis Ave. in search,of
sewer and !eater line again laid over for report from City Engineer.
On motion of J. B. Berkemeyer, seconded by R. F. Howell, the application
of Hyrum F. Larsen for permit to connect with sewer on ,Sandercock Street between
Cypress Street and Beebee Street granted, work to be done under supervision of the
City Engineer.
Application of M. Jensen for permit to lay 57 ft. of 5 ft. park sidewalk
on west side of-Chorro Street between Mountain View Street and Center Street.granted,
work to be done under supervision of the City Engineer.
Re: "City of San Luis Obispo Day" at Golden Cate International Ex-
position: - Matter left to Cornissioner R. P. Howell.

Resolution No. 404 (New Series) A Resolution accepting a Deed from the
Roman Catholic Bishop of Monterey- Fresno conveying to the City of San Luis Obispo a
right -of -way for street and sidewalk purposes over and across certain property
fronting on North Broad Street and on Palra Street, .respectively, in Block 11 was in-
troduced, passed and adopted, on motion of J. B. Berkemeyer, seconded by L.J. Defosset
by the following vote:
