Defosset Application of Valley Electric Co. for permit to hang a neon sign for San Luis Paint and !nail Paper Store, 685 Higuere Street referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council. Application of Stanley Rodgus for permit to place an iron and steel Hamburger and Soft Drink.Stand on a part of lot 18, Block 99, Mission Vineyard Tract referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report to the Council, as was also, the application of the said petitioner for license for Mdse (Lunch, :Soft Drinks, etc.) at said Hamburger Stand on Marsh Street. The matter of bids on $25,000.00 "City of San Luis Obispo Water Bonds of 19397 Series A" received on May 10th, 1939, action on which was deferred to May 12th, 1939 were now taken up, and, Resolution No. 420 (New Series) - A Resolution selling $25,000.00 principal amount of "City of San Luis Obispo 'r';ater Bonds of 1939- Series A" to William R. Staats Company at the price of par, accrued interest to date of delivery and a premium of x72.00 was adopted and passed, on motion of J. B. Berkemeyer, seconded by R. P. Howell by the following vote: Ayes: J. B. Berkemeyer, R. P. Howell, Joseph Leary, L. F. Sinsheimer. Noes: None Absent: L. J. Defosset On motion of J. B. Berkemeyer, seconded by Joseph Leary, Clerk ordered to return certified check in the amount of 57500'00 to Raiser & Co., the unsuccessful bidder on x"25,000.00 Municinal Improvement Bond issue of 1939. Ordinance No. 196 (New Series) - An Ordinance changing the official curb grade on both sides of Upham Street between Johnson Street and Fixlini Street was finally passed on motion of J. B. Berkemeyer, seconded byR. P. Howell by the following vote: Ayes: J. B. Berkemeyer, R. P. Howell, Joseph Leary, L. F. Sinsheimer Noes: None Absent: L. T. Defosset.
