Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell that the salary of Kenneth Cantrell, Pound Master, be raised from $60.00 to $75.00 per month commencing September 1, 1939. Motion carried. On motion of R. F. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil the City Clerk was directed to advertise for Bids for the improvement of Highway No. 101 through the City ( Higuera Street: From the South City Limit to Marsh St; Marsh Street: From Osos Street to Santa Rosa Street; Santa Rosa Street: From Higuera Street to Monterey Street ), in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore, filed August 14, 1939 by the City Engineer. Bids to be received up to 7:30 o'clock P. M., September 11, 1939. On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R. P. Howell, the meeting adjourned to Friday, September 1st, 1939 at 9:00 o'clock A. PA. "Kennedy, Fred C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Absent: None The following application for permit to build was granted on motinn of R. P. Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary: L. A. Sarter - Residence and four garages -��ith apt., pt Blk 92, Cost $ 5000.00 This being the date fixed for hearing on the Resolutions of Intention for'the improvement of Morro Street and the improvement of Islay Street - the matter was now ta_:en up. There were no protests, either verbal or written, filed. Resolution No 462 (New Series) - A Resolution determining General Prevailing rate of wages applicable to the work to be done on .Islay Street and a portion of Toro Street in said City as described in Resolution of Intention No. 453 (New Series), and on a portion of Morro Street in said City as described in Resolution of Intention No. 458 (New Series), was passed and adopted, on motion of R. Joseph Leary Noes: None Absent: None Resolution No. 464 (New Series) - Ordering certain work on Islay Street and a portion of Toro Street as described in Resoluticn of Intention No. 453 (NPw Series) of the City C ourcll of the City of San Luis Obispo and directing the Clerk to post notice, and inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the work ordered, said bids to be filed with the City Clerk on or before 9:00 o'clock A.M. on the 15th day of September, 1939 was adopted and passed on motion of R. Kennedy, offered recommendations and sug- gestions relative to proposed amendments to the Dog License Ordinance. Matter was dis- cussed and on motion of R. P. Howell,, seconded by Joseph Leary the matter was laid over for further study. Commissioner R. F. Howell, presented the matter..relative to Booster Pump at Monterey Heights. Matter �--tfas discussed and on motion,of R. P. Howell, seconded by 'A'. H. Brazil, the City Attorney was directed to draft a Res -Ilution regarding the placing and maintenance of Booster Pumps, both inside and outside-the City of San Luis Obispo. Commissioner Ralph C. Kennedy presentdd petition relative to laying water main on Fixlini Street from iTpham Street to lot 00 of the Fixlini Tract. Matter discussed and on.motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil, the petition was referred to Commissioner of Public ?forks and the City Engineer for investigation and report at the next meeting of the Council. On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H.
