City Council met in regular session - Mayor F. C. Kimball presiding.

The Minutes of December 18th and 27th were read and approved as read.
The following application for permit to build was granted:
Mariana Pricco - Res. Pt of Lot 4, Blk 201 Cost 2400.00
The application of Albert F. Rogers for license for Taxicab at 1088 Higuera.
street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and
report to the Council.
The application of the San Joaquin Power Division, Pacific Gas and Electric
Co. No. 262 to replace a termite infested pole on Higuera Street between Carmel and Nipomo
Streets was referred on motion of.Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil to the Com-
missioner of Public Works, with power to act.
428 The reports of the City Collector, the Police Judge and the round Plaster for the
month of December were received and ordered plat -d on file.
The Monthly Crime Report of Don W. Pares, Chief of Police, was received and
ordered filed.
Claims against the City for the month of December, 1939 were ordered paid on
motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R. P. Howell, subject to the approval of the heads
of the respective departments and the Mayor.
O- rdinance No. 209 (New Series) - tun Ordinance establishing grades on Hathway
Ave. betrjeen Third Street and Murray Street was finally passed on motion of R. P. Howell,
seconded by Ralph C.'Kennedy by the following vote:

on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy.
The petition of Louise Righetti relative to oiling of Essex Street between Palm
and Monterey Street was ordered placed on file for future reference on motion of R. P.
Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil.

Matter in connection with Jennings Tent Show held over for report from the City
Ordinance No. 210 (New Series) - An Ordinance ordering the closing up of a porti
of Park Street in the City of San Luis Obispo, directing the execution of a deed conveying
said portion of Park Street to C. M. Long was introduced and passed to print on motion of
R. F'. Howell, seconded by V1. H. Brazil by the following vote:
