Everly, 1822 Chorro Street relative to the 41 parking of trucks and undue noises created thereby was received and on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil, was referred to the Commissioner of r'ublic Health and Safety for investigation and report. The application of Thornton C. Marshburn for license for Skating Rink at the I. D. E. S. Hall :gas granted on favorable report and motion of,W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. 1. Howell. The City Engineer presented First Supplemental Memorandum of Agreement to provide for Expenditure of 1/4 cent gas tax fund for State Highways for the 1939 -41 biennium, and Resolution No. 497 (New Series) - A Resolution approving the First Supplemental) Memorandum of Agreement for Expenditure of 1/4 cent gas tax allocated for State Highways was adopted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil by the following vote: Ayes: W. H. Brazil, R. P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball Noes: Joseph Leary Absent: None On motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell, the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety was authorized to install two additional sodium vapor street lights - one at the intersection of Marsh and Santa Rosa Streets and one at the intersection of Marsh with Higuera Streets. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell. On motion of R: P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil the application of the Sandercock Transfer Co. for permit to move a warehouse from a part of Lots l and 2, Block 95 to Lot 2, Block 5, Weills Addition was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works for investigation and report to the Council. The application of Neon Sales & Service for permit to hang a vertical neon sign at 993 Higuera Street, "Dame's Place ", was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report, on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy. The application of Gus Anderson,-by Archie A. Cheda, for permit to open trench on Kentucky Street between Murray Ave. and the City Limits for the purpose of connecting with sewer was referred to the-Commissioner of Public Works, with power to act, on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil. The application of James Jepson for registration as Class "D" Contractor, together with United States Fidelity and Guaranty Co. bond in the amount of $1000.00, and registration fee of $25.00 was received and on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil the surety was accepted, bond approved and registration granted. The application of-C. C. Sharps for registration as Class "D" Contractor "to - gether with United States Fidelity and Guaranty Co. bond in the amount of $1000.00 and registration fee of $25.00 received and on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil the surety was accepted, bond approved and registration granted. Applications for the quarterly licenses were presented and referred to the Com- missioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council. Communications from James Gillidett relative to street lights, and G. B. Stapp relative to water meter rates were received and ordered placed on file. Communication from Mrs.-Wm. Erdman relative to radio interference was referred; on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the'Council. Re: Water Line on Grand Ave. ( outside the City of San Luis.Obispo).: Matter discussed and petitioners present were requested to present formal petition re- garding installation of a 4" waterline on-Grand Ave. Matter referred to the Commissioner of Public Works and the City Engineer for investigation. Motion carried, Resolution No! 498 (New Series)-- A Resolution providing for the issuance 449 of $25,000.00 Principal amount of. "City of San Luis Obispo Water Bonds of 1939, Series -B "; Prescribing the date and form of said bonds and of the coupons to be attached thereto; Fixing the maturities thereof; authorizing the execution of said bonds and coupons; and providing.for the levy of a tax to pay the principal and interest thereof was adopted and passed on motion of R..P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil by,the following vote: Ayes: W. H. Brazil, R. P. Howell,,Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Noes: None Absent: None Resolution No. 499 (New Series) - A Resolution directing the sale of Twenty- five thousand dollars of City of San Luis Obispo Water Bonds of 1939, Series -B, and directing the Clerk to advertise for bids.to be received up to 7:30 o'clock P. M., Monday the 8th day of April, 1940 was passed and adopted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W:-H.,Brazil by the-following vote: Ayes: W. H. Brazil, R. P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F.C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Noes: None Absent: None There was discussion relative to truck routes through the City. Matter continued. The Cityr-Engineer presented map showing-proposed installation of electric street lights; Matter discussed._.It was moved by Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil that 12 overhead electric lights be-erected and installed'on Monterey Street between Chorro Street and Santa.Rosa Street and on Higuera Street between Broad Street and Santa Rosa Streets as per Power Company's survey and map; twelve electric lights to be erected in.lieu of 24 gas street lights, Commissioner R: P. Howell reported favorably on the following applications: John Melin - Bawer connection, Branch Santa Maria Gas Co. - to break pavement and Ida Street to Santa Maria Gas Co. - to break pavement and Santa Rosa St residence. Street between Cypress and Beebee Streets. on Marsh.Street between Johnson Ave. install gas service (Hawkins residence) on Murray Ave. between Chorro'Street reets for gas service for J.F.Hart I On motion of Ralph C.
