Delaney - 144.4 ft. of 5 ft. sidewalk adjoining curb on the north side of Church St. between Garden St. and Broad St. The application of D. Mattison for permit to recess curb for 10 ft. driveway on the east side of Beebee St. between High St. and Sandercock St. was granted with the provision that the work be done -under the supervision of the City Engineer. The application of C. T. Bates for registration as Class "F" Contractor, to- gether with Hartford .accident and Indemnity Co. bond in the amount of $200.00 and regis- tration fee of q'P1O.00 was received, and on motion of Ralph C. .ennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil the surety was accepted, bond approved and registration granted. The report of the police Judge for the month ending June 30th, 1940 was received and. ordered placed on file. Re: Change of rolic_y State Comoensation Insurance Fund from a quarterly basis to an innual basis: It was moved by Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by Irv, H. Brazil that the Clerk be, and she is hereby authorized and directed to draw a warrant in.the amount of y.1600.00 for payment of premium on compensation insurance from July 1st, 1940 to June 30, 1941. Liotion carried. Re: petition of P. V. Birins et al for the installation of a light on Ella Street between_ Ruth Street and Johnson Street: The Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, `!l. H. Brazil, reported that the light had been installed. Assistant City Engineer, Leonard Lenr*_er reported that favorable action had been taken on the application of the.Sandercock Transfer Co. for permit to break pavement on Fish Street bet:,leen Becch Street and Leff Street for sewer connection. The Commissioner of iublic Health and Safety, �. H. Brazil, was made cheirr.!an of the committee to act with Joseph Leary and Ralph C. Kennedy to furnish recommendations to the Council regarding the purchase of two neoj cars for the Police Department. There was discussion relative to the installation of a " STOP AND GO SIGNAL" at the corner of Chorro and Higuera Streets. ^10 action taken. On motion of P.a1ph C.
