Communication from the Chamber of Commerce relative to the parking of cars on Palm Street between OS03 and Santa Rosa Streets were received and referred to the Commissioner 13 City Hall, Monday, October 14, 1940 - 7:30 P. M. City Council met in'adjourned session-- Mayor F. C. Kimball presiding. Present: I. H. Brazil, R.P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Absent: None The following application for permit to.build was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil: Guilda Williams - Addn, to bldg. Part of Lot 2, Blk 8, ..Anholm Addn. Cost 500.00 The application of the Assembly of God Church, by A. 0. Johnson, for permit to lay 6 ft. sidewalk at the corner of Islay and Chorro Streets was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works, with power to act, on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy. On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil the following applications for permit to connect with sewer .,vere'granted with the provision that work be done under the 1 supervision of the City Engineer: - A. Lanotti - Garden Street between Fismo and Buchon Streets- John Jensen - Peach Street between Santa Rosa and Toro Streets Henry Brazil - Lawton Street between Funston Ave. and Woodbridge Street ' J. R. Rone - Crandall Way, between Foothill Blvd. & :Colytechnic Campus (Outside City) In a communication, L. Shelton requested a bridge for driveway and two sewer outlets on wall being constructed on Dana Street; matter referred to Commissioner of Public orks for investigation and report. Communication from the Chamber of Commerce relative to the parking of cars on Palm Street between OS03 and Santa Rosa Streets were received and referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council. The application of Willard J. Chase for permit to lay 50 ft. of curbing on the iNorthside of Center Street.between Almond Street and North :,Broad Street, Anholm Addition, was granted on motion of R. P. Howell,'seconded by Joseph Leary with the provision that the work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer. The application of Paul M. Gregg, by Theo. M. Maino, for permit to recess curb and ramp sidewalk for driveway on the East side of Broad Street between Higuera and Monterey Streets was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil. The application of John A. and Flossie A. Lund for license for Lunch Counter at 796 Higuera Street was granted on favorable report and motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell, Notification from the State Board of Eaualization, relative to the application of Cery Arcaina and Max Lagao for license for "On Sale Beer and Thine" at 866 Palm Street file motion duly seconded and carried. was ordered .placed on on Communication was read from Fred H. Jennings of Jennings Tent Sbo:v. City:?Attorndy presented and read a draft of ordinance. Matter discussed, and it was moved by W.H.Braz -il, seconded by Joseph Leary that the fee for Dog Shows, and for other theatrical entertainments, ' shows or exhibitions, except circus or menagerie, a license fee of $25.00 per day shall be paid. Motion carried. Ordinance No. 219 (New Series) - An Ordinanceemending Section 75 of Ordinance No. 76 (New Series) relating to shows and exhibitions was introduced and passed to print on (motion of R. F. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil by the folloWing vote: Ayes: W.H.Brazil, R.P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F.C. nimball, Joseph Leary Noes: None Absent: None
