The petition of Rudolph Marshall for transfer of license for Lodging House at 874 Higuera Street to H. A. Gorham was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report, on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H: Brazil. The application of Miles Mathews for permit to recess curb for a distance of 8 ft. and ramp sidewalk for driveway on the west side of Higuera Street between High Street and South Street was referred to the Commissioner of rublic Works, with power to act, on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil. The application of Neon Sales & Service, by Sam Holland, for permit to hang a horizontal neon sign at 1005 Monterey Street, Berkemeyer Garage, was referred to the missioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report, on motion duly seconde and carried. T. Steele, for registration as Class "E" contractor, together with U. S. Fidelity and Guaranty Co. bond in the amount of $500.00 and registration fee of $15.00 received and on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, second by 111. H. Brazil, the surety was accepted, bond approved and registration granted. The applications of Ben Wargon for license for Restaurant-and Soft Drinks on Higuera Street near Nipomo Street were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council. On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy the City Clerk was authorized and directed to return to property owners, monies collected for the proposed oiling of Pismo Street between Osos and Morro Streets. The proposed work having been abandoned for the present. The application of George Kilbern for permit to lay 54 ft. of 8 ft. sidewalk on the south side of Buchon Street between Broad St. and Nipomo .Street was granted on motion of R. F. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil. The application of B. Hemen for license for Lodging House at 878 Marsh Street was granted on motion duly seconded and carried. The petition of Jerry Richards for permit to remove three trees from the sidewalk area at 1445 + darsh Street granted on motion of R. }. Howell, seconded by I. H. Brazil. The application of Helen Adams for license for Lodging House at 964 Chorro Street was granted. The application of James R. :Sherman for license for taxicab was granted on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by Joseph Leary. The communication from Dr. E. M. Bingham, relative to chlorination'of city water supply was ordered filed for future reference. Notification from the State Board of Equalization relative to the application of Cery Arcaina and Max Lagao for "Wine Bottling" at 866 Palm Street, also, of the appli- cation of Dale E. Turney for transfer of license.for "On Sale Beer and Wine" and "On Sale Distilled Spirits" to Henry S. Nisbet were ordered received and placed on file, on motion of: Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by Joseph Leary. A petition from San Luis Obispo On Sale Liquor License Association, by Ed. Madsen, was received and ordered placed on file. It was ordered on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell that the request of Edward Bavena for refund of dog license fee be denied. Motion carried. The tissistant City Engineer, Leonard Lenger, presented specifications for roofing of the new fire house. Matter discussed and on motion of R. 1. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy the City Clerk was directed to advertise for bids as.per specifications- bids to be submitted up'to 7:30 o'clock P. M. December 2nd, 1940. Communication received from Richard F.
