Howell, Ralph U. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Absent: None The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. " 2,900.00 Flora Chase - Res. & Garage, Lot 79 Blk 21, Central Addn. " 29900.00 Albert Nelson - Remodel store front, Lot 7 ,Blk. 79 150.00 L. B. Shelton - Trailer Camp - Lot 10, Blk 61, " 300.00 Application of Margaret N. Davis for license for Lodging House at 985 Chorro Street referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council. Application of W. E. Stapp for permit to lay 50 ft. of 4 ft. park sidewalk on the east side of Garden Street between Islay Street and Leff Street referred to the Commissioner of Public Works with power to act, on motion of 7-1. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell. On motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell the following applications for permit to connect with the main public sewer were referred to the Commissioner of "Public :Works, with power to act: Lyle Carpenter - On 10.ft. right of way - North Broad Street near Mission Street. L. B. Shelton - Dana St. between Nipomo St. and Stenner Creek. L. P. Camp - Nipomo St. between Buchon St. and Pismo St. Carl Kirkeby - Santa Rosa St.-between Walnut Street and Fig Street. Petition of Norris Rathjou for permit to operate an Eledtric Air Machine Gun Gallery at 1021 Morro Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report to the Council on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil. The report of the Police Judge for the month of November, 1940 received and ordered placed on file. On favorable report and motion of.W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell the applications of Ben eVargon for licenses for Restaurant, Cigars Sideline and Soft Drinks at 645 Higuera Street were granted. Petition of Singer Sewing Machine Co. by J. E. Hamilton, for permit to hang a Composition Board sign flush with the building; also, a metal letter "S" sign at 718 Higuera Street was granted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell. Petition of Faulstich Bros. by J. F. Faulstich, for permit to construct a 5 ft. brick wall to enclose patio on Lots 11 and 12, Block 90, at W. H. Goettsche resi- dence was granted -on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by IV. H. Brazil.Work =to be done under supervision of the City Engineer. Petition of J. E. McClure, President of,San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce for permit to move the Chamber of Commerce sign and standard from its present location at 1020 Morro Street to 783 Marsh Street was granted. On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil the petition of R.Heidorn for permit to remove certain trees from sidewalk area at 1417 Marsh Street was granted. Application of H. J. Dubin for permit to remove portion of building from Lot 3 to,part of Lots 30 and 31 Block 149 Harford.Addn. ( Nippon Tract) was laid over for revision of cost named by petitioner.
