Fowell. The snplication of Margaret N. Davis for a license for Lodging House at 985 Chorro Street ,,jas continued one week. On motion of R. F. Nowell, seconded by W. F. Brazil the aoplication-of Y:'. E. Starr to construct e. 4 ft. park sidewalk on the east side of Garden Street between Islay and Leff Streets vas granted - work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer. Upon motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil the following eppli- cations to connect with sewer were granted: Lyle Caroenter - For nevi residence near Mission and Broad Streets L. B. Shelton - Dana Street, between Nipomo and Stenner Creek S.1'. Camp - On Nipomo Street between Buchon and Pismo Streets Uoon motinn of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. F. Brazil the application of Carl Iiirkeby to break pavement to install a new sewer line on Santa Rosa Street between 1,731nut and Fie Streets pas denied, without prejudice, an old sewer service having been discovered. A discussion was had upon the proposed ordinance levying licenses on mechanical music machines and the matter was continued until the next meeting of the Council. Upon motion of W. H. Gregg for Restaurant, Soft Drinks and 33 Cigars Sideline licenses at 851 Palm Street were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and "Safety for investigation and report, upon motion of R. F. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil, also, the application of Henry S. Nesbit for a Cigars Sideline license at 1022 Morro Street. Upon motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil it was ordered that the surety on the bond of Western Wholesale Sign Co. be approved, the bond received and license as contractor granted. The regular quarterly license applications were referred to the Commissioner of iublic Health and Safety for investigation and report, upon motion of R. P.Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil. A petition was received addressed both to the County Board of Supervisors and the City Council requesting that Kentucky Ave. across the S. P. R. R. tracks be opened, and upon motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell the petition was received and placed.on.file and the City Clerk was directed to send a copy of such petition to the S. P. R. R. Co. for their consideration. On motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell the application of Stella Tuman for a Restaurant license at 1025 Monterey Street was granted. The petition of R. E. ExHenry for a Cigar Store license at 1030 Morro Street was denied upon motion of 11% H. Brazil, seconded by R. 1. Howell, The two applications of L. D. Scheiber for Soft Drinks and Cigars Sideline licenses at 964 Monterey Street were denied upon motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell. Upon motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell the application of Margaret N. Davis for a Lodging House license at 985 Chorro Street was granted. The petition of John and Mary Christensen asking that Woodbridge Street be opened from Lawton Ave. to Story Street was directed to be placed on file upon motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil. The application of Ralph Duncan to transfer Filling Station and "Ierchandise License issued for the premises at 636 Higuera Street to Edw. H. Robinson was granted on motion of IV. H. Brazil, seconded by R. 1:. Howell. Upon motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P.Howell the application of D. Heckathorne, of the Western Wholesale Sign Co., to hang a neon sign at 320 Higuera Street for the Richfield Oil Co. was granted - work to be done inaccordance with City Ordinance and under the supervision of the City Engineer. Upon motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil the application of George Dunham to place a new front on the John Fitzpatrick property in Block 99 was granted. The application of Alvin E. Rhodes, on behalf of the San Luis Obispo City and County School Departments to construct an adobe brick building on part of Block 32 to cost $8125.00 was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil. Resolution No. 552 (New Series) - A Resolution Objecting to the Sale by J. E. Barrett*as Tax Collector of the County of San Luis Obispo, of Certain Tax deeded property lying within the City of San Luis Obispo was passed and adopted upon motion of R. P. Hoivell, seconded by W.
