Kennedy it was moved that the Department of Public Works be authorized to buy 36 ft. of 36" culvert pipe and fittings and Mr. John Christensen to pay the City of San Luis Obispo $ 65.00 as part of the cost. Brazil it was ordered that the bond be approved, surety accepted and license ordered issued. The affidavit from Leonard A. Burns, as requested by the City Council, was received and on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell it was ordered placed on file. Communication received from 1'Im. C. Wyatt under date of April 25, 1941 re: parked cars on Monterey 5t. between Grove and Ida Streets; matter discussed and on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil it was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report. The report of the City Collector for the month of March, 1941 was received and ordered paced on file. In Re: Agreement from shard I. Cook and the City of San Luis Obispo, relative to supplying water to subdivision, adjacent to San Luis Obispo, known as "Tract No. 31" County of San Luis Obispo, by replacing new pipe line. Mr. Cook agrees to pay to the City of San Luis Obispo the sum of Three hundred dollars, being his share of the cost of such new six inch pipe line as follows: $50.00 to be paid upon the execution of this agreement 25.00 on the 1st day of June, 1941 and alike and further sum of $25.00 on the first day of each and every calendar month succeeding thereafter until said sum of $'300.00 has been paid, without interest. After discussion and on motion of R. P.Howe11, seconded by W. H. Brazil it was ordered that the Agreement be accepted on the part of the City Council. Motion carried. On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil, Ordinance No. 225 (New Series) An Ordinance Amending Section Four of Ordinance No. 122 (New Series) was finally passed upon the following vote: Ayes: W. H. Brazil, R.P. Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Noes: None Absent: None On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil, Ordinance No. 226 (Neer: Series) An Ordinance amending Section Four and One -half of Ordinance No. 122 (New Series) was finally passed upon the following vote: Ayes: W.H.Brazil,R.P.Howell,Ralph C. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil, the City Attorney was instructed to draw an agreement bet�Neen the City of San Luis Obispo and the Goldtree Investment Co. in reference to the construction by the City, of an extension of the water main along Johnson Ave. to serve the property owners of the Goldtree Investment Co. and present it to the Council at the next meeting. The communication from the San Luis O,,ispo Livestock Association was again brought up regarding the purchase of City owned property for a slaughter house. Matter discussed at length; Joseph Leary made a motion to the effect that the city should not sell the property in question, at the present time, and on his motion, seconded by W. H. Brazil, the vote was cast as follows: Ayes,: R. P. Howell, F. C. iiimball Noes: W. H. Brazil, Ralph C. Kennedy, Joseph Leary Absent: None Motion was lost.. The City Clerk was then directed to advise tore San Luis Obispo Livestock Association that the property was not for sale at the present time. In Re: Petition of E. C. Schwafel et al - Matter again brought before the Council relative to a zoning ordinance; after discussion it was referred to Commissioner L:alph C. Kennedy for study of the area to be zoned. A letter was presented and read before the Council signed by H. H. Anderson, President of the Night Ball League, requesting the city to do certain work on property owned by the City of San Luis Obispo, in preparing the ground for a ball park. After discussion and on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by V1. H. brazil it was decided that the city will cooperate with the Night Ball League and prepare the city property, tno,hn as "Laguna zroperty ". Motion carried. Resolution No.` 571 (New Series) - A Resolution providing for the execution of an nereement between the City of San Luis Obispo and Smith booth Usher Co. for lease rental of a certain Jumbo Hydraulic carrying revolving Scraper, 8 ft., heavy, less rubber and that certain Jumbo 33 gallon hydraulic Pump with adaptor for Allis Chalmers HD7 Tractor, was passed and adopted upon motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W.H.BraziI by the following vote: . Ayes: 'N.H.Brazil, R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Noes: None Absent: None On motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell the City Attorney was instructed to draw up an ordinance calling for a "Stop Sign" to be ir_stalled at Chorro and Mill Streets, stopping traffic on mill 6treet. Councilman Joseph Leary was instructed by the Mayor to look into the purchase and secure prices on a Harley Davidson Motorcycle. 1 7 i 1
