The applicaticn of J. F. Hickenbottom for registration as a Class "D" Con-
tractor together with ?1. S. Fidelity and Guaranty Co. bond in-the amount of $1000.00 and
registration fee of $25.00 received, and on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by 'W. H.
Brazil it vas ordered that the surety be accepted, bond approved and registration granted.
The application for transfer of license from L. W. Lawrence dba Mission Garage,
to B. C. Dennis was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for report,

ceived and ordered filed.
Communication from Cyril Camp of Culver City, Fireworks Co. Inc., under
date of May 31 1941 addressed to the City rttorney inquiring about the sale of fireworks
in the City of San Luis Qbispo was read and on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H.
Brazil same was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation
and report.
A letter was received from Jack and Lucille Dana requesting the "ngineering

Islay Street to be and constitute a boulevard was passed and adopted upon the following
roll call vote:

Communication received from the ? "Jar Department office of Zone Constructing
.quartermaster Zone S. San Francisco, Calif. under date of May 9, 1941 and addressed to Mayo:
F.C. Kimball, requesting the City of San Luis Obispo to pay 4??13.00 to the Department of
Public Works, Division of Water Resources, State of California for filing fee on spi;li-
cation to appropriate unappropriated water, and to be paid in two parts: first, a payment
in the amount of $5.00 to accompany the application and second, a payment in the amount of
X208.00 to be paid within 30 days thereafter. After discussion it was moved by R. P.Howell
seconded by W. H. Brazil that the City Clerk be authorized to draw warrants, one in the
amount of $5.00 and one in the amount of WF208.00 - amounts tc be paid out of the .+'ater Fund
Three Certificates of Adootion by the qualified Electors of the City of,San
Luis Obispo of certain amendments to the Charter, approved by Paul Peek, Secretary of
State, received and on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R. P. Howell, same was
ordered placed on file.
On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by V. H. Brazil it was ordered that
the yearly dues for 1941 in the amount of $7.50 be paid to the Channel Counties Division
League of California Cities. Joseph Leary voted "r�o ".
Communication received from Fiesta de las Flores Committee dated May 107 1941
inviting the Mayor and Council to participate in the Fiesta Parade, and on motion of R. P.
Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy it was ordered placedon file.
Petition from llrs. Myrtle Davis et al requesting for a Stop Signal at the
corner of Morro and Islay Streets was received and ordered filed.
Tentative map of-Tract Nc,. 34 in the City of San Luis Obispo was filed by
Kenneth Beck and on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by VI.:H. Brazil it was ordered the map
be approved and tract accepted by the City,and the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to si€
.Ordinance No. 227 (New Series) - An Ordinance providing for the acquisition
of certain real property by the City of San Luis Obispo was finally passed on motion of
R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil by the following vote:
