C. $ale for shooting gallery at 1131 Monterey Street was denied. The City Attorney was instructed to draw up a resolution to be presented at the next meeting of the Council relative to raise in wages for the Police Department and the Fire Department.. On motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W.H. Brazil it was ordered that Mr. Mills) at the Sewer Farm, receive an increase in wages; his salary to be $125.00 per month as of Sept. 1, 1941. The following miscellaneous matters were held over for another week: Building permits for C. D. Stowe, Emma C. Righter, C.E. Knott, Lucy Handsdy; sewer con- nections for Pacific Gas and Electric Co., and Ordinance No. 229 (New Series) was held over for passage. On â–ºnotion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Brazil the following permits were granted - work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer: Santa Maria Gas Co. - To break pavement'to install new gas main on Hathway Ave. intersection of Walnut and Peach Streets. Edward F. Boyle - To connect with sewdr, on Walnut St. between Morro and Chorro Streets. On motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R.P. Howell the following applications for sidewalk and curbing were referred to the Commissioner of Public Works: 1 1 1 1 Joseph T. Silva - To break curb-for driveway and construct 14 ft. of new I.2 1 curb, on the Southside of Monterey St. betwean Andrews St. and City Limits, Mrs. Minnie Mead - To cut curb for a distance of 10 ft. for driveway on the East side of Broad St. beti.veen Islay and Buchon Streets. The application of Robert Armstrong for license for Taxicab at 1190 Monterey St. and the transfer of license of C. M. Long Filling Station at 1680 Monterey St. to J. &. M. Wasson wasreferred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report. Notification received from the State Board of Equalization for application of transfer of "Beer and ';line Wholesaler's'! license from John H. Reardon & E.E. Kleck, at Western Condensing Bldg. Murray Ave., San Luis Obispo, to John H. Reardon, dba K & R Distributing Co. Same was ordered received and filed. Letter received from Rev. Walter Loretz, asking permission to erect Lutheran Church Markers at the northern, southern, and western approaches to the city was granted, 1 on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell; signs to be installed under the supervision of the City Engineer. Donald E. Barker of 777 Essex St. appeared before the Council complaining about the treatment received by the Police Department of San Luis Obispo regarding a traffic citation. Matter was discussed at length. Commissioner W. H. Brazil advised Mr. Barker that the Council would investigate the matter after the complaint had the formal police court hearing. Mr. Erwin H. Truitt, business manager of the Electrical Union, appeared before the Council to register a protest regarding the type of electrical work being done in the city of San Luis Obispo. He was advised by the Council that the electrical ordinance is now under revision and strict supervision and inspection is assured in the near future. Lots 12 & 13, Blk. 7, Central Addn. Cost $ 129000. C. E. Knott - Addn. to sewing room and service porch to present bldg. Pt Lots 1 -2 -3, Block 19, Central Addn. 600. ^, Wm. C. Burns - Residence and Garage, Lot 5, Blk. 52, Cost 4250.00 A. Tatjes - To raze present garage and rebuild, Pt. Lots 1 & 2, Block 4, Southside Addn. " 45.00 John J. Langdon - Conc. foundation to bldg. and alterations, Ft of Block 61, " 200.00 The application of the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. No. 278 for permit to do v certain pole work on Morro St. between Palm and Mill Streets was granted, on motion of R.P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil. Ordinance No. 229 (New Series) - was again brought up for final passage. After much discussion, it was decided to hold it over for another week. 1 The Mayor instructed Commissioners Howell and Kennedy to contact the City of Santa Maria and Paso Robles regarding the handling of the Planning Commission in their cities. Resolution No. 616 (New Series) - A Resolution Fixing the Shcary to be paid to Policemen was passed and adopted on motion of W.H. Brazil, seconded by R. P.
