Kennedy, F. C. Kimball, Joseph Leary Absent: None The following applications for permit to build viere granted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell: H. L. Kemper - Alteration - change present residence to 3 Apts. Blk.. 12, Central Addn. -Cost 2000.00 Delton & Marion Hodgson - Res. and Gar. Lot 3, Blk. 801 " 5000.00 Farmer Bros. Coffee Co. - Store Bldg. with Apt. above, " 9000.00 Ward & Mae Jamison - Addn. to present-bldg. Lot 14, Blk. 3,Imperial Addn. " 750.00 The application of A. Brazil for permit to connect with sewer on Sandercock Street between Cypress and Price Streets was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil; work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer. The following petitions were referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report, on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W.H.Brazil: Neon Sales & Service - permit to hang horizontal sign ( neon ) for John Langdon at 304 Higuera St. hang neon sign for the Coffee Pot Cafe, 1131 Broad St. C. D. Stowe - hang sign on roof. of Service Station at the corner of Marsh and Osos Streets Notification received from,the State Board of Equalization for transfer of license for "Beer and Wine Wholesalers" from John H. Reardon to George Matts, Murray Ave. San Luis-Obispo, Calif., same was ordered received and filed. Petition received from L: W. Kamm et al requesting Boulevard Stop Signs at various locations near the Emerson School. Same was referred to the Commissioner of Publi Health and Safety for investigation and report, on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil. On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R. P. Howell the Merchandising bonds of-the Thrifty Furn. Co. and of the Perfect Method Cleaners in the amount of $200.00 were ordered cancelled and their certified checks were ordered returned; the principals having fuifilled the obligations of said bonds. This being the date fixed by the Council as per minute order of October 20, 19411, and in accordance with published notice, for receiving bids for furnishing to the City of San Luis Obispo Vitrified Clay Sewer Pipe to be used in the main sewer connecting the sewer system of the California Polytechnic School to the server system of the City of San Luis Obispo, the following is a list of all those submitting bids,.which bids were publicly opened and read: ( Joseph Leary made a motion to call for re- advertising for bids before the bids be opened, but the motion died for lack of a second). Gladding McBean & Co. - Glendale, California Southern Pacific Milling Co. - San Luis Obispo, Calif. Pacific Clay Products - Los Angeles , Calif. The City Engineer checked the hereinabove bids and reported that the bid of the Pacific Clay Products in the amount of $3603.10 was the lowest and best bid.received. Matter discussed, and it was moved by Ralph C. Kennedy seconded by R.F. Howell that the bi be awarded to the Pacific Clay-Products in the amount of $3603.10. Joseph Leary voted "N This being the date fixed by the Council as per minute order of October 22, 194 and in accordance with published notice, for receiving bids for a Heating System for the New Municipal Building. As no bids were received the City Clerk was instructed to re- advertise for bids to be opened November 3, 1941, on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W.H. Brazil.
