Brazil the Commissioner of Public Works was instructed a lay a gravel walk from Walnut Street to the City limits along Hathway Ave. On motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. H. The petition of the Valley Electric Co. for permit to hang a double faced neon sign for the Shell Station at 1200 Monterey Street was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, with power to act, on motion of W.'H.Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy. The petition of Wm. C. O'Donnell for permit to hang a temporary banner sign at 1128 Garden St. was granted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy. The following applications for contractor's licenses were received on motion of Ralph C.`Kennedy, seconded by W. H. Brazil; the bonds were approved, sureties accepted, and registration granted: Electrical Products Corp. - Class "E" - Indemnity Ins. Co. bond - $500.00- registratioin fee, $15.00 Southern Counties Gas Co. - Class "E" contractor - Pacific Indemnity Co. bond - $500.00 registrati:.,n fee, $15.00 The report of ti:e Police Judge for the month of November, 1941 was received and ordered filed. A communication was received from the Lions Club advising the Council that at a meeting of the Lion's Club they adopted a resolution urging the painting of safety zones at certain intersections for the safety for school children; same was referred to the Com- missioner of Public Health and Safety, with power to act, on motion of R. P. Howell, seconde by W. H. Brazil. I Petition was presented and signed by Hotel 01ineman, Anderson Hotel, Hotel Blackstone and San Luis Hotel requesting that the City Council adopt an ordinance to regulate the hours of operating music machines and radios; discussion was haduand on motinn of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by W. F. Brazil it was moved that the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety and the City Attorney submit an ordinance to the Council covering the control of music machines and radios from 12:90 o'clock midnight to 7 A. M. The application of Leslie W. Kamm for permit for an addition to garage an Lot 71 Block 90, M. & C. Addn. at a cost of $250.00 was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil. The applications of Pacific Gas and Electric Co. No. 282 and No..283 to do certain pole work on Buchon Street between Carmel and Beach Streets and on Fletcher Street between Santa Barbara Ave. and Emily Streets was granted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W. H. Brazil. The petition of Neon Sales & Service for permit to hang a double faced neon sign for Harry Norton at 898 Higuera Street was granted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by R. P. Howell; work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer and existing ordinance. The application of Herbert Snyder for city license for Taxicabs was granted on motion of W. H. Brazil, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy, his location-will be at the Service Center, 1190 Monterey Street. The City Collector's uncollected license list for the October quarter, 1941 was referred for one more week, to the-Police Department for collection. Re: petition from the P. T. A. 6tissociation relative to traffic assistance for the children attending the Fremont School was ordered received and filed. The petition of the San Luis Obispo Live Stock Assn. was held over. Resolution No. 639 (New Series) - A Resolution Fixing the Salary of the City Collector-in the sum of 0140.00 per month as of January, 1942 was passed and adopted on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by W.H. Brazil by the following roll call vote: Ayes: W.H.Brazil, R.P.Howell, Ralph C. Kennedy, F. C, Kimball, Joseph Leary Noes: None Absent: None Resolution No. 640 (New Series) - A Resolution Fixing the salary of'the Buildi Inspector to be $225.00 per month as of January 1, 1942 was passed and adopted on motion of 1.
