The following applications for permit to build were granted on motion of R. P. .Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary: Chris Anholm - Res. and Garage, Lot 72 Blk 2, Anholm Addn. Cost $ 4500.00 H. D. Garlinger Store and washroom - Lot 6, Blk. 186, Ingleside Tr. 600.00 Roman Catholic Church - Garage, Block 11 - 800.00 Southern Counties Gas Co. - Office Bldg. remodel - Lot 7, Blk. 969 Mission Vineyard Tract, TM 750.00 W.W. & Elsie J. Mathews - Alterations to store. Block 61, 225.00 Chester Lunder - New foundation under residence;.Lot 5, Blk. 2, Central Addn. 300.00 The petition of Glen G. Davis for permit to move buildings from 484 Dana Street to outside of city limits was granted on motion of R.P.Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy. Work to be done under the supervision of the Building Inspector. The petition of P. 111. Caughlan for permit to connect with sewer on Lincoln Street, Lot 1, Block 2, Anholm Tract, was referred to the Commissioner of Public Works, with power to act. The application for sewer permit from Edward S. Garcia to connect with sewer on Lawton Street between Funston and Woodbridge atreets was granted on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, second d by R.P. Howell; work to be done under the supervision of theCity Eng inee r. :Application of Bud Rose Sign Service for permission to hang neon sign at the corner of Pacific and Broad Streets was :referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety, with power to act, on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R.P.Howell. ISOThe application of.the Southern Counties Gas Co. for permit to break pavement on Higuera Street between Osos and Santa Rosa Streets to install gas service for the new theatre was granted on motion of R.P. Howell, seconded by Ralph C. Kennedy. The following applications for contractor's licenses were received and on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R. P. Howell, the bonds were approved, sureties accepted and registration granted: James F. Cumpston - Class "E" Contractor - U.S.ridelit & Guaranty Co. bond in amount $500.00; registration fee, 1.5.00; J. Hollinger & Son - Class "D" - Contractor - U.S.Fidelity & Guaranty Co. bond in .amount $1000.00; registration fee $ 25.00 The applications from Max Lagao and Peralta for city licenses for Mdse (Conf. , Lunch, Soft Drinks etc.) and Cigars Sideline at 138 Higuera Street was referred to the Commissioner of Publid Health and Safety for investigation and report. The Merchandising Bond of Anita Frocks, Inc. in the amount of $200.00 with the Fidelity and Deposit Co. of Maryland as surety, was receivedand on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by R. P. Howell, the surety was accepted, bond approved and licenses ordered issued. The applications of S. Charles JacksonSor license for Pool Hall and Cigars Sideline at 194 Higuera St. was referred to the Commissioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report, as was also the application filed by G. B. i'enry for Lodging House at 158 Higuera Street, known as the "Pacific Hotel ". The Merchandising Bond of Martin Montano in the amount of 4200.00 was endorsed by E. Firpo and J. Fernandez as surety was received and on motion of Ralph C. Kennedy, seconded by Joseph Leary, the surety was accepted, bond approved and license ordered issued. The transfer of license from Max Lagao and M. Peralta at 866 Palm Street to A. Alverez for Pool Hall, Cigars Sideline and Soft Drinks was referred to the Com-missioner of Public Health and Safety for investigation and report, on motion of R. P. Howell, seconded by Joseph Leary. 1 Communication from E. D. Bullard Co. asking for confirmation of order of siren delivered to the City of San Luis Obispo was ordered received and filed. The reports of the Police Dept. and of the City Collector for the month of February, 1942 was ordered received and filed. Claims against the city for the month of February, 1942 was ordered paid, subject to the approval of the heads of the respective departments and the Mayor. The list of unpaid licenses for the January 1942 quarter was referred to the Police department for collection. The application of Lela Hall for Lodging House and Boarding House at 192 gigue Street was held over. Re: Communication from Geo. W. Forbes relative to condition of the trees along Brizzolara Street in the 600 block was ordered received and filed. Ordinance No. 236 (New Series) - An Ordinance changing the Official name of Eto Street was finally passed on motion of Joseph Leary, seconded by R.P.Howell upon the following vote: Ayes: R.P.Howell, Ralph C.
